The works of William Shakespeare can be some of the most challenging plays for any company to produce. One of the potential hurdles is whether or not to change or alter the play to make it 'more accessible' to modern audiences. Some will argue that no such changes need to ever happen because the plays are as accessible and relatable today as they have always been. Others say modern audiences need help to grasp the play's language and its meaning. Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park is taking on these challenges in their rollicking and entertaining production of Taming of the Shrew, now playing on the stage at the Myriad Botanical Gardens.
The pre-Broadway engagement of ROMAN HOLIDAY - The Cole Porter Musical, is premiering as part of SHN's 2017 Season this summer. Newcomer Stephanie Styles and Broadway favorite Drew Gehling (Waitress) will take on the iconic roles portrayed by Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck in the classic film, and Tony Award nominee Jarrod Spector (Beautiful) and TV and stage star Sara Chase ('Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt') will round out the principal casting.

Pursuing her real passion, writing, Amanda has learned from the best by working behind the camera for Woody Allen, Bobby Moresco, and David Chase, and in writer's rooms as assistant for Paul Haggis, Todd Field, John Lee Hancock, Mark Johnson, and Gil Adler. Amanda wrote two episodes for the first season of NBC's The Black Donnellys. She has had two feature films produced. Amanda has written and produced numerous one-act plays. Most recently, she directed the L. A. production of William Hoffman's 'Cal in Camo' which went on to a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway run. Amanda is raising two sons and splits her time between New York and Los Angeles.
