AMERICAN IDIOT Garners 12 SF Critics Circle Noms.

This year's Critics Circle Awards, sponsored by Actor's Equity Association, today announced is nominees for excellence in San Francisco Bay area theater. Berkeley Rep's production of American Idiot, which played in the fall of 2009, leads with 12 nominations and will open on Broadway this spring.

Casting Announced For San Jose Repertory's Production Of THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE

San Jose Repertory Theatre is proud to conclude its 2008-2009 season with the smash hit The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The Tony® award-winning musical comedy ? one of Broadways most talked about hits ? is in attendance at San Jose Rep. This hilarious tale of six adolescent outsiders vying for the Spelling Bee title is directed by Timothy Near. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee begins previews on May 9, opens on May 15 and closes June 7.

SF Bay Area Theater Critics Circle Announces 74 Winners

Representing the print and electronic media, 23 members of the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle announce the winners of 37 Drama awards and 37 Musical awards from 257 nominated actors, designers, productions, and more reviewed in 2008. Over 400 productions were seen in 2008 by Circle critics reviewing theatre from San Jose to Santa Rosa, San Francisco to Concord.

Nominations Announced For Critics Circle Outstanding Awards

Here are the Nominations for Outstanding Awards from the San Francisco Bay Theatre Area Critics Circle. Winners will from each catagory will be announced in approximately two weeks. A Gala Cocktail party will be held for the winners in each catagory at A.C.T. Columbia Room on May 4th. San Jose Rep Presents Around the World in 80 Days November 22-December 21

This holiday season San Jose Rep unwraps a special treat for the entire family! Arriving just in time for the holidays is Mark Brown's adaptation of Jules Verne's novel, Around the World in 80 Days - a clever adventuresome comedy with five actors playing more than three dozen roles! A production fueled by the imageries of Steampunk, which combines the elegance of the Victorian era with futuristic technology.

Cast announced for "The Secret Garden" - Willows Theatre

This classic story has enchanted children since its publication in 1911. An orphaned 11-year-old girl finds wonder, friendship and redemption in an abandoned secret garden on her reclusive uncle's Yorkshire estate. Flashbacks, dream sequences, a strolling chorus of ghosts, anever written for the stage will delight children and grown-ups alike.
