Kansas City Repertory Theatre (KCRep) announced details on the launch of their five-year capacity building campaign, The Creative Future Fund (CFF). The campaign supports new works, youth education programs, and audience engagement/development at KCRep and has a goal of $5,000,000. Additionally, KCRep officials confirm a new matching gift from Bunni and Paul Copaken which will be a dollar for dollar $100,000 match in support of the New Works (OriginKC) aspect of the Creative Future Fund.

Crowded Fire Theater, one of the Bay Area's most innovative and critically acclaimed producers of new plays announces an upcoming change in leadership. Since 2007, Tiffany Cothran has has shepherded the organization through three Artistic Director transitions including, Kent Nicholson & Cassie Beck, Marissa Wolf, and Mina Morita. She will be stepping down this 2017 Season after 10 years of advancing the organization.

FastHorse is dedicated to showcasing other Native American artists in conjunction with presentations of her work. Kansas City Repertory Theatre is proud to congratulate What Would Crazy Horse Do? Director, Sam Pinkleton on his Tony Award Nomination Best Choreography for his work on this season's Broadway hit musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, which led the field with 12 nominations, including Best Musical. Pinkleton previously choreographed KCRep's 2015 acclaimed production of Hair: Retrospection.

The William & Eva Fox Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national service organization for theatre, have announced that Vanessa Severo in association with KC Rep is the recipient of a Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowship for Exceptional Merit. Funded by the Fox Foundation and administered by TCG, the fellowship is one of only a few programs of its kind for actors in the country, and Severo is one of only six recipients inround eleven of fellowship activities.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2016-17 season with an exciting addition to the ORIGINKC NEW WORKS FESTIVAL in the spring of 2017. Playwright Christopher Chen breathes new life into the classic tragedy by William Shakespeare as commissioned by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Play On! program in which playwrights translate the bard into contemporary English. KC Rep and UMKC's department of theatre team up to support a developmental production of this new play.
