Crowded Outlet Announces New York Premiere of Marisa Michelson's Marigold Chor Ensemble

Crowded Outlet, is proud to announce the New York premiere of Marisa Michelson's Marigold Chor Ensemble. Assembled by Michelson (Jonathan Larson Award Grant winner, Tamar of the River) and featuring many multi-hyphenate artistic creators, the experiment will be performed Sunday, October 16th at 5pm at Judson Memorial Church. Tickets are invitation-only.

Arizona Legends Come Alive Oct. 21-22 at 9th Annual GHOST TALK

The spirits of Arizona's past come alive Oct. 21-22 at Ghost Talk 2016 and share their historic ghostly folklore through traditional storytelling, music, song, and dance at the 9th annual fundraiser for youth programming at the Prescott Center for the Arts (PCA)  and West Yavapai Guidance Clinic (WYGC) on the PCA Main Stage, 208 Marina Street. 

Ruth Eckerd Hall Announces Zev Buffman Contract Extension

Ruth Eckerd Hall's Board of Directors announced today that Zev Buffman, President and CEO of Ruth Eckerd Hall, Inc. has received a contract extension through January 1, 2019, extending his term to 7 years. The vote by the board was unanimous.  

Warner Theatre to Host Screening of The Met's DON GIOVANNI 10/22

The Warner Theatre's 2016-17 Met Opera: Live in HD Season continues with Mozart's DON GIOVANNI in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre on Saturday, October 22 at 12:55 pm. A complimentary pre-opera lecture will be offered to all ticketholders in the Nancy Marine Studio Lobby for 45 minutes of pre-opera information and entertainment, 2 hours before broadcast. Yale Repertory Theatre, celebrating 50 years of daring artists, bold choices, and adventurous audiences, presents the world premiere of Scenes from Court Life, or the whipping boy and his prince by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Mark Wing-Davey, now through October 22 at Yale University Theatre (222 York Street). Opening Night is tonight, October 6.

Greenway Arts Alliance Presents George Orwell's 1984

"War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength."  Greenway Arts Alliance Presents: George Orwell's 1984, directed by Kate Jopson as the first production of their novel to stage program Greenway Reads. 300 Fairfax High School students are reading the novel and will attend matinee's of the theatrical production. The adaptation by Alan Lyddiard creates an interactive and engaging experience for audience members. Jopson said, "We're trying to create an immersive experience. The elements of the play and its themes are all around us in the real world. We try to emphasize that and as soon as you arrive at the theater there's not anywhere you're not in the set of 1984, even in the lobby and bathrooms."

BAM to Present Howard Fishman's A STAR HAS BURNT MY EYE

A play with music, A Star Has Burnt My Eye is inspired by the extraordinary true story of Connie Converse. An unknown musician living in Greenwich Village in the early 1950s, Converse wrote and self-recorded original music-by turns beautiful, poetic, funny, and haunting-that was far ahead of its time. A quarter of a century later, long despairing of finding an audience for her art, Converse left goodbye letters that weren't quite suicide notes, and vanished.
