Hull Unveils Theatre and Performance Programme for 2017

Hull UK City of Culture 2017, details of which are announced today, is a 365 day programme of cultural events and creativity inspired by the city and told to the world. Divided into four seasons, this national celebration draws on the distinctive spirit of the city and the artists, writers, directors, musicians, revolutionaries and thinkers that have made such a significant contribution to the development of art and ideas.

George Street Playhouse Announces Casting for Season-Opening MAMA'S BOY

George Street Playhouse today announced the cast of Rob Urbinati's Mama's Boy, which runs October 18 through November 6 at the New Brunswick theatre. Betsy Aidem (Broadway's All the Way, GSP's God of Carnage) stars as Marguerite Oswald, the headstrong mother of Lee Harvey Oswald, played by Michael Goldsmith (TV's Doctor Who, Gotham). 

Little Black Afro Theatre Presents SWAN

Part thriller, part horror fantasy, Little Black Afro Theatre is proud to announce its next production: Swan, a new play by Hamilton-born, Toronto-based playwright Aaron Jan. Gruesome, spine-tingling, and unrelenting, Swan follows a group of young queer women as they piece together a vicious, disturbing episode from their school days 10 years ago. Swan will be produced in association with Filament Incubator from November 3 - 13, 2016, and will be presented at Theatre Passe Muraille's Backspace. 10% of the box office proceeds from this production will be donated to DAREarts, a Canadian children's charity that uses educational experiences in the arts to empower children and youth facing life challenges.

The Mexican Museum Hosts Artists in Conversation: Cinco y Cinco/Five and Five

 The Mexican Museum, the premier museum of Mexican, Chicano and Latin American art, culture and heritage, announces its final two talks for the 2016 Artists in Conversation series. On Thursday, September 22nd at 7 p.m., Artists in Conversation:Cinco y Cinco/Five and Five will feature a talk with artist Geri Montano. On Thursday, October 27th at 7 p.m., Artists in Conversation:Cinco y Cinco/Five and Five concludes with a talk with artist Bernardo Roman Palau.

The Mexican Museum, the premier museum of Mexican, Chicano and Latin American art, culture and heritage, announces its final two talks for the 2016 Artists in Conversation series. On Thursday, September 22nd at 7 p.m., Artists in Conversation:Cinco y Cinco/Five and Five will feature a talk with artist Geri Montano. The Closing Reception for the 2016 Artists in Conversation series will take place on Saturday, October 29th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. All three events are free, open to the public, and take place at The Mexican Museum, Fort Mason Center, 2 Marina Blvd., Bldg. World Ballet Day Live Returns And To Be Streamed On Facebook

The Australian Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, The Royal Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada, and San Francisco Ballet will collaborate for the third time to broadcast 20 hours of behind-the-scenes footage on Tuesday, October 4. For the first time, World Ballet Day LIVE will be streamed via Facebook LIVE-the longest broadcast ever to be shown on the platform.
