Anthony Arkin, Tate Donovan and More to Lead Signature's MEDIEVAL PLAY

Signature Theatre today announced initial casting for the world premiere of Kenneth Lonergan's new play MEDIEVAL PLAY, which Lonergan will also direct. The productionruns May 15 - June 24, 2012 with a June 7 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at the Company's new Frank Gehry-designed home The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

The Acting Company and The Guthrie Theater Presents JULIUS CAESAR, 4/9

The Acting Company and the Guthrie Theater are bringing their national touring production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar to New York for a limited two-week run, April 9-22, at the Baruch Performing Arts Center. Rob Melrose, Artistic Director of San Francisco's Cutting Ball Theater has directed what is considered one of Shakespeare's greatest tragedies. Michael Sexton, Artistic Director of The Shakespeare Society will host a talkback following the April 17th performance. The Irene Diamond Fund Donates $10 Million to Signature Theatre

Signature Theatre announced today that the Irene Diamond Fund has made a $10 million gift in support of The Pershing Square Signature Center, the Company's new, permanent home which opened on January 31, 2012.

She will appear in Original Cast 3, this year's S.T.A.G.E. (Southland Theatrical Artists Goodwill Event) benefit for APLA (Aids Project Los Angeles) Saturday April 28 at the Saban Theatre.

The Broadway production of EVITA opens tonight at the Marquis Theatre. The company of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's landmark musical is led by world renowned music artist Ricky Martin as Che, Olivier Award-winning Argentinean actress Elena Roger in her Broadway debut as Eva Perón and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Perón, along with Max von Essen as Migaldi, Rachel Potter as the Mistress, and Christina DeCicco as the alternate/standby for Eva Perón.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will hold auditions for the musical, Legally Blonde at the Arvada Center, April 5 and 6; and in New York City, April 9 -11. Legally Blonde will be directed by Gavin Mayer, with musical direction by David Nehls and choreography by Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck. The Arvada Center Artistic Producer is Rod A. Lansberry.

Due to critical praise and popular demand, Vineyard Theatre has announced a final extension - now through April 28 - for the new musical NOW. HERE. THIS., which opened to rave reviews and sold out houses at The Vineyard on March 28. This will be the second and final extension for the show, which must close on April 28 due to season and artist schedules.

Olivier Award-winning director Maria Aitken (39 Steps) will direct John Glover (Death of a Salesman), Marthe Keller (Judgment at Nuremberg) and Lisa Banes (Present Laughter) in a staged reading of Noel Coward's A Song at Twilight on Monday, April 16 at 7 pm at the Mainstage Theater (Playwrights Horizons). The performance, sponsored by the Noel Coward Foundation, is presented in conjunction with The Noel Coward-New York Festival 2012. A reception with the cast and director will be held following the performance. Ms. Aitken serves on the Artists Advisory Board of The Acting Company; Ms. Banes is an Alumna of the Company. Dallas Opera Cowboys Stadium Ticket Requests Top 25,000

The Dallas Opera, in partnership with Cowboys Stadium, announces that more than 25,000 tickets to the Dallas Opera's one-night-only April 28th Cowboys Stadium Simulcast, presented by The Dallas Foundation, have been requested by opera lovers from throughout Texas and 26 additional states. Ticket requests have also come in from the District of Columbia and Canada since the joint announcement was made on January 26th at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
