Signature Theatre (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) presents MEDIEVAL PLAY, written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan, begining Tuesday May 15 for a Thursday, June 7 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at the Company's new Frank Gehry-designed home The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Closing Aurora's 20th season is the World Premiere of SALOMANIA, Aurora Theatre Company Artistic Director Tom Ross's first new play commission for the company, written and directed by award-winning Bay Area auteur Mark Jackson (Metamorphosis, Salome, Miss Julie). Workshopped and developed at Aurora in 2010, SALOMANIA features Madeline H.D. Brown (Metamorphosis), Mark Anderson Phillips (Small Tragedy), Alex Moggridge (Betrayed), Liam Vincent (California Shakespeare Theater), Anthony Nemirovsky (Awake and Sing!), Marilee Talkington (Crowded Fire), and Kevin Clarke (Shotgun Players). SALOMANIA plays June 15 through July 22 at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley.
The Cinetopia International Film Festival Set for 5/31-6/3

The Cinetopia International Film Festival, presented by AT&T, announced today a portion of the more than 30 films that will screen over the four days of the event, taking place May 31-June 3 at three Ann Arbor landmark locations: the Michigan Theater, the State Theater, and Angell Hall at the University of Michigan.

The Dallas Opera, in partnership with Cowboys Stadium, has entered world record territory: more than 30,500 tickets to the Dallas Opera's one-night-only April 28th Dallas Opera Cowboys Stadium Simulcast, presented by The Dallas Foundation, have been requested by opera lovers from throughout Texas and 26 additional states. Ticket requests have also come in from the District of Columbia and Canada since the joint announcement was made on January 26th at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Eine Bank im Park. Martha (Christine Ostermayer) ist Mitte 70 und wohlsituiert. Die ehemalige Schuldirektorin ist humanistisch gebildet, Mitglied des Vereins zur Wiedereinführung der lateinischen Messe, eloquent und daran gewöhnt, den Ton anzugeben. Jeden Tag kommt sie in den Park, um mit den Enten zu reden. Eines Tages trifft sie auf die bedeutend jüngere Vicky (Hansi Jochmann). Die arbeitslose Krankenschwester ist eher schlicht und strickt für ihr Leben gern. Sie hat die alte Dame schon länger im Visier, denn sie hofft, ihr eine Sterbeversicherung verkaufen zu können. Nicht über den Versuch an sich empört sich Martha, sondern über das Wie.

Johann Christian Neuber (1736-1808) was one of Dresden's most famous goldsmiths. Sometime before 1775 he was named court jeweler to Friedrich Augustus III, elector of Saxony, and in 1785 he was appointed curator of the Grünes Gewölbe (Green Vault), the magnificent royal collection of Augustus the Strong, the founder of the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory.
