Theater Resources Unlimited Hosts 'PLAYWRITING: How to Write for Commercial Production' Today

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) in association with Diana Amsterdam, presents Practical PLAYWRITING: How to Write for Commercial Production, a one-day intensive today, August 22, 2015 from 11:00am to 5:30pm at the Desotelle NuBox Theatre, 300 W. 43rd Street, 3rd floor. This is a unique writer's workshop with a happy ending: a chance to pitch your work to a panel of producers, and is part of The TRU Beginnings series of opportunities for works in early development.

Carole Shelley to Depart A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER; Successor Set!

It was announced today that Judy Blazer will join the cast of the Tony Award winning Best Musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, in the role of Miss Shingle.  She will begin performances on Tuesday, June 30.  Carole Shelley, who currently fills the role, will play her final performance on Sunday, June 28.

Two-Time Olivier Nominee to Join A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER on Broadway

It was announced today that two-time Olivier Award nominee Scarlett Strallen will take over the role of 'Sibella' in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical, beginning Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Her predecessor Lisa O'Hare exits the production on February 8, 2015 after originating the role at Hartford Stage, then in San Diego at The Old Globe, and finally on Broadway at The Walter Kerr Theatre.

Joe DiPietro Coming to Episcopal Actors' Guild

Tony Award-winning playwright Joe DiPietro joins The Episcopal Actors' Guild (EAG) for a conversation about his work as part of their Anatomy of a Musical series. DiPietro's credits include the book and lyrics for Memphis and the book for Nice Work If You Can Get It. He will be interviewed by producer Margot Astrachan of A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder and Nice Work If You Can Get It.

Christopher Gattelli, Beth & Allan Williams to be Honored at 2014 NYMF Gala

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced that choreographer Christopher Gattelli, and theatre producer and manager Beth Williams and Allan Williams will be honored at its 2014 Gala to be held on Sunday, November 9th at the Edison Ballroom in Manhattan.

Tony Winner to Join 2014's 'Best Musical' A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER

It was announced today that Tony Award-winner Carole Shelley will join the cast of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical. She will be stepping into the role of Miss Shingle on October 28th. Jane Carr, who originated the role, will play her final performance on October 26th.

GHOST - THE MUSICAL features Steven Grant Douglas as Sam Wheat, Katie Postotnik as Molly Jensen, Carla R. Stewart as Oda Mae Brown and Robby Haltiwanger as Carl Bruner. Featured ensemble are Fernando Contreras, Brandon Curry, Evette Marie White, Lydia Warr, Hana Freeman and Shannan E. Johnson. Rounding out the ensemble are Susan Leilani Gearou, Tony Johnson, Beth Stafford Laird, Andrea Laxton, Ben Laxton, Jake Vander Linden, Michael McClure, David Melendez, Jack O'Brien and Maria Cristina Slye.
