The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the sixth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Douglas J. Cohen on November 29. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by David Thompson (The Scottsboro Boys). Producer Daryl Roth announced today that the musical Dear Edwina, a holiday favorite with critics and audiences alike, will return for its third season to the DR2 Theatre (103 East 15th Street, NYC) for a limited run beginning Friday, December 17, 2010, playing through Friday, February 25, 2011.

Former Avenue Q cast-mates Ann Harada and John Tartaglia will reunite when Harada resurrects her character "Christmas Eve" from the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q for a one-night-only holiday cabaret entitled CHRISTMAS EVE WITH CHRISTMAS EVE.

As the leaves are turning into a rainbow of colors, and we await the first snowflakes to fall, DC theatergoers are anticipating Arena Stage's first two productions in their new Mead Center, while Harry Connick, Jr. introduces children to a friendly elf, and Snow White and a red rose and a guy named Fred make a stop at The Kennedy Center. That red-haired orphan brings Sandy and a bitchy Ms. Hannigan and a pooch named Sandy to Olney, MD. Synetic Theater Artistic Director and his wife/choreographer reunite on the stage, a Ziegfeld Folly stars in a one-woman show, and doughnuts are served at The Studio Theatre.

He is one of the most successful theatrical producers, lauded for bringing HAIR to Broadway in 1968, and an active proponent of youth creating positive global social change.
