National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced the line-up of new musicals for their 29th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20, 2017 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The Festival will kick off on Wednesday, October 18 with its celebrated concert, The 46th Minute.
On Sunday June 18th at 9:30pm, Honeck-Moss Productions is proud to present 'In The Works.' This exciting monthly series was conceived as an opportunity for composers to try out new work in front of an audience and see how it plays in a supportive environment. It is also an opportunity to create community among the composers and their performers.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat is presenting the first reading of the new musical, BHANGIN' IT, book by Rehana Lew Mirza and Mike Lew and music and lyrics by Sam Willmott, on May 1 in New York City for an invited industry audience. The reading includes actors Shoba Narayan (Natasha Pierre & The Great Comet), Tony Sheldon (Amelie), Dan Rosales (Spamilton), Angel Desai (Company), and Salena Qureshi. The reading is directed by David Ruttura (School of Rock) and music directed by James Dobinson (The View UpStairs).
On November 7th, The Score will produce The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown by Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk as a live concert for the next episode of the podcast recording. Theatreworks USA will continue its 2016 weekend family performance series this Sunday April 3rd, with Henry and Mudge? was adapted by bookwriter/lyricist Kait Kerrigan and composer/lyricist Brian Lowdermilk (Jonathan Larson Award-winners) and is based on the best-selling books by Cynthia Rylant, illustrated by Sucie Stevenson. Henry and Mudge premiered Off-Broadway in July 2006 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. This 60-minute musical is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Young People's Theatre Workshop (YPTW) will host Come Home to YPTW, a concert featuring alumni star performers on Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at The Players Club of Swarthmore, 614 Fairview Ave., Swarthmore. Tickets are $25 in advance; $30 at the door. Download a ticket order form at www.yptw.org The purpose of the concert is to raise funds for YPTW's spring production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, a technically expensive production that requires a "flying" car. All funds raised from the concert will be used to support the production.
