Artistic Director Mark Clements yesterday announced Milwaukee Repertory Theater's 2012/13 Season. The choice of plays includes a Tony Award-winning musical, two classics from American literature, two landmark plays written nearly 50 years apart, a musical parody of Broadway, two scintillating musical revues that celebrate the blues and the legendary music of Johnny Cash, an interactive stage show by mentalist Marc Salem and a soul-stirring hit from London and Broadway.

Produced by Metropolitan Talent and WestBeth Entertainment, "Mind over Manhattan" will delight audiences of all ages with a series of mesmerizing and mystifying mind games on Saturday performances slated through March 10th.

Jeffrey Ash, a prominent theatrical advertising executive who helped revolutionize Broadway advertising with the first live-action television spot for 'Pippin' and who later became a successful producer for Broadway, off-Broadway, and London's West End, died suddenly August 8, 2011 at his home in Manhattan. He was 65 and for many years had suffered from inclusion body myositis, an autoimmune disorder.

Queens Theatre in the Park (QTP) announces its 2009/2010 season of dance, theatre, classical music, film, and family programming - more than 40 events, including the world premiere of Against the Rising Sea, featuring Tony Award-winning actress Elizabeth Franz; the development of a new musical, Opa! Finian's Rainbow, which just ended a critically acclaimed five-performance run at New York City Center's Encores! series last weekend, will move to Broadway's St. James Theatre in the fall. Producers David Richenthal and Jack Viertel announced that the show, which hasn't been seen on Broadway since 1960 (it premiered in 1947), will be adapted from the Encores! concert presentation into a full production.

The production will star Leslie Kritzer as the dim-witted showgirl, Billie Dawn, along side Michael McGrath as the shrewd tycoon, Harry Brock. Born Yesterday opens on Monday, August 18th.
