On the tenth anniversary of WICKED on Broadway, Gregory Maguire, author of the novel WICKED, and his husband, the painter Andy Newman, announce the establishment of The Elphaba Fund.

Broadway San Jose, a partnership between the Nederlander Organization of New York and Team San Jose, have announced the six shows in its 2013-14 Season. Headlining the Broadway San Jose season will be a three-week run of WICKED, the Tony Award winning musical that maintains its position as the top selling musical on Broadway, nine years after its premiere.

The blockbuster musical, WICKED, will continue to celebrate its 10th Anniversary on Broadway with three national television appearances airing the week of October 28th.

Broadway In Chicago is pleased to announce that a WICKED day-of-performance drawing for a limited number of orchestra seats will take place inside Block Thirty Seven. Block Thirty Seven is located at 108 N State, across from the Oriental Theatre. An additional pair of tickets for each performance will be given away, courtesy of Block Thirty Seven, in honor of the 10th Anniversary of WICKED. According to published reports, Universal Pictures made a deal late on Friday night for a script by newbie writer Aaron Berg, entitled Section 6.

After breaking box office records in 2011, WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, will return to Pittsburgh's Benedum Center January 15 through February 9, 2014. Tickets for the return engagement go on sale Monday, November 4, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. WICKED is part of the PNC Broadway Across America-Pittsburgh series, presented by The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Broadway Across America and Pittsburgh Symphony.

The skill needed to adapt Gregory Maguire's novel into a stageable script takes both collaboration and out-of-the-box thinking. Working closely with the rest of the creative team, Wicked's book writer Winnie Holzman defined characters, built plot and weaved together themes to bring the story of Elphaba and Glinda to the stage.
