The new American musical Allegiance officially opened last night, November 8, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street, starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway, 'Star Trek' icon George Takei in his Broadway debut at age 78, and Broadway and 'Glee' star Telly Leung. Allegiance is the vibrant and unforgettable story of one family's resilience in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds, inspired by Takei's real-life experience as a Japanese American during World War II.  BroadwayWorld was there for the full night of festivities and you can check out photos from the curtain call below!

Allegiance stars Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway joined by 'Star Trek' icon George Takei in his Broadway debut at age 78, and Broadway and 'Glee' starTelly Leung. Rehearsals are underway for Flat Rock Playhouse's presentation of CHASING RAINBOWS: THE ROAD TO OZ world premiere, which chronicles the life of a young Judy Garland. This exciting new musical explores her extraordinary journey from vaudeville to Hollywood to stardom which culminated in one of the most popular films of all time, THE WIZARD OF OZ. The production will run from November 27 through December 19, 2015 at Flat Rock Playhouse, the State Theatre of North Carolina, nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A veteran of four previous Broadway musicals, this is his first time originating a role on Broadway.

Allegiance stars Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway, and later this month, fans will get a chance to get up close and personal with the superstar.  The October 31 matinee performance of Allegiance is Pinoy Day!
