Ailey II's "indefatigable, virtuosic, and relentlessly sexy" dancers (Los Angeles Times) return to The Joyce Theater from March 17 - 22with two programs of premieres and recent audience favorites. The Company's spring run at The Joyce will be the first time they will present an independent season at one of dance's most cherished and historic venues. During an eight-performance engagement, their "off-the-charts energy" (The New Yorker) will be amplified in diverse repertory by emerging and established choreographers, including Jennifer Archibald, Amy Hall Garner, Dwight Rhoden, Katarzyna Skarpetowska, Manuel Vignoulle and Ailey II's Artistic Director, Troy Powell.

The Joyce Theater (Linda Shelton, Executive Director), the nation's most prestigious theater devoted to modern dance, announced today the organization's programming for its 2015 Spring/Summer season, featuring a wide array of extraordinary companies, including return engagements of fan favorites and introductions to new companies making their Joyce debuts.

Classes for Kids and Teens are back this September at The Ailey Extension in conjunction with the new school year and National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. Starting Sunday, September 7th, tailor-made classes will bring dance and fitness to young people, including: Tiny Steps, a unique experience for 2-year-olds, Hip-Hop 4 Kids (ages 7-11), and the Teen Extension Series (ages 12-17), with ballet, jazz or hip-hop. Weekly classes are taught in a “no-pressure” environment allowing students to gain confidence not only in their dancing abilities, but in themselves.

Satellite Collective, a collaborative arts incubator focused on creating cutting edge works of interdisciplinary performance, will present two evenings of new work, on May 16 at 17 at 8 pm at Brooklyn Academy of Music's BAM Fisher. Drawing together choreographers, composers, visual artists, writers, filmmakers, designers, and photographers, Satellite Collective offers an innovative vision of how art forms align. The performances will feature five new works by the company's 27 artists, and will include two world premiere modern dance works, a short-motion film, a spoken word piece and a solo cello composition.

Randy James' new dance company, 10 Hairy Legs, will hold its first annual week long, all-day Summer Intensive Workshop July 8-12 at Gina Gibney Dance, 890 Broadway in New York City. The Intensive will focus on preparing dancers (male and female) to explore and challenge themselves as complete artists in preparation for a professional career in the field.
