The Denver Center for the Performing Arts has announced the appointment of Matthew Lopez as Denver Center Playwriting Fellow for the 2014/15 Theatre Company season.

The Pasadena Playhouse announces the cast of STOP KISS, the second production of its 2014-2015 Season. Written by Diana Son and directed by Pasadena Playhouse Associate Artistic Director Seema Sueko, STOP KISS stars Sharon Leal (Bill Condon's Dreamgirls, Fox's "Boston Public," and Lionsgate's Addicted), Angela Lin (Broadway's Chinglish), John Sloan (Fox's "Happy Hour"), Brandon Scott (ABC's "Grey's Anatomy"), Amanda Carlin (Liar Liar), and Jeff De Serrano (A&E's "Longmire"). The production is performed November 4 - 30, 2014 with the official press night on Wednesday, November 9, 2014.

New York City Center's 11th annual Fall for Dance Festival will feature free performances in Central Park and 24 acclaimed dance companies and artists from around the world, in six unique programs in September and October 2014. In keeping with the Festival's commitment to make dance accessible to everyone, the Festival will kick off with two FREE evenings of dance at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, in association with The Public Theater, today and tomorrow, September 12 and 13 (rain date, September 14) and will continue at City Center from October 8 - October 19 with all tickets at $15. The Festival's many free pre-show events will include dance lessons and panels by choreographers, artists and dance educators. Tickets will go on sale Sunday, September 14 at 11 a.m.

The world premiere of Jordan Harrison's 'Marjorie Prime' will open September 21, 2014, at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum. Directed by Obie Award-winner Les Waters, the profound and engaging new play begins previews tonight, September 10 at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum. Performances continue through October 19, 2014.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company announces its 2014-2015 ReDiscovery Series with a selection of five plays by significant women playwrights of the early 20th Century, directed by local D.C. directors. The first reading to kick off the series will be Chains of Dew by Susan Glaspell, directed by Holly Twyford, on Monday, September 15.

An appealing promo for the new Broadway production of the Donald Margulies drama THE COUNTRY HOUSE starring multi-award-winning stage and screen star Blythe Danner is now available to view along with a new promotional photo featuring the stars of the new play.

Monica West has joined the cast of the kef theatrical production of IT'S ONLY KICKBALL, STUPID -- the new play by Caroline Prugh and directed by Adam Fitzgerald. She will step in for Autum Hurlbert, who had to leave the production do to scheduling conflicts, for performances through Sunday, September 14 at The Hartley House (413 West 46th Street).

Obie Award-winner Les Waters will direct the world premiere of Jordan Harrison's profound and engaging 'Marjorie Prime' at the Center Theatre Group / Mark Taper Forum, tonight, September 10 through October 19, 2014. The opening is set for September 21.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for Marco Ramirez's ('Orange is the New Black,' 'Sons of Anarchy') wildly theatrical new play The Royale, directed by two-time Obie Award-winning and Drama Desk Award-nominated Rachel Chavkin. Founding Artistic Director of New York's the TEAM, Chavkin most recently won accolades for Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (The New York Times, Time Out New York, and New York Post Critics's Picks, and Top Ten of 2012 and 2013). The Royale will run October 4 to November 2 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run October 4 - 8. Opening night is Thursday, October 9 at 8:00 p.m.

Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere co-production of The Country House, the new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, begins previews tonight, September 9, and opens Thursday, October 2 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). The Country House is produced in association with the Geffen Playhouse.

North Bay Stage Company is going to the dogs; at least for its October production. A resident theater company of Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, it presents Sylvia, a lively, humorous look at how man's best friend can impact the lives of others. The show will run 8 p.m. Fridays October 3, 10, 17 and Saturdays October 4, 11, 18 and at 2 p.m. on Sundays October 12 and 19, 2014. Rep Stage, the regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), opens its 22nd season with David Ives' "Venus in Fur", directed by Joseph Ritsch, Rep Stage's co-producing artistic director.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the publication of Samuel D. Hunter's The Whale/A Bright New Boise. This is the first book by Hunter from TCG. Winner of Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel awards, The Whale has had several notable productions, including its world premiere at the Denver Theatre Company in January 2012 and an off-Broadway run at Playwrights Horizons in October 2012 in New York, NY. The Obie Award-winning A Bright New Boise was first produced by Partial Comfort Productions in New York in September 2010, and enjoyed a subsequent production at Woolly Mammoth Theater Company in Washington, DC.
