ArtSpan, a San Francisco non-profit organization supporting artists throughout the Bay Area, is hosting its annual Benefit Art Auction today, April 13, 2013 with proceeds funding its art programs and community outreach.

For season 1, Game of Thrones won 2 out of the 13 nominations for the 2011 Emmy Awards. That same year, the series won a number of other awards including three Scream Awards for Best TV Show, Best Supporting Actor (Peter Dinklage), and Breakout Performance - Female (Emilia Clarke). The HBO network has been consistently renewing the hit show every season for the following year as soon as the 1st episodes' rankings came in. To comply with this trend, they have recently once again renewed for season 4 to air in 2014.

The Old Globe will open its 2013-14 Season with The Last Goodbye, a new musical that marries Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and the incendiary songs of the legendary singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. Conceived and adapted by Michael Kimmel, the rock musical is directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson). Choreography is by Sonya Tayeh ("So You Think You Can Dance"), and orchestrations, music direction and arrangements are by Kris Kukul. The complete creative team and casting, as well as the remainder of the Globe's new season, will be announced at a later date. The Last Goodbye will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Sept. 20 - Nov. 3, 2013. Preview performances run Sept. 20 - Oct. 5. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 6. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. The New York Philharmonic will present A Dancer's Dream: Two Works by Stravinsky, a multidisciplinary, theatrical reimagining of the ballets The Fairy's Kiss and Petrushka, created by Giants Are Small. Sara Mearns, New York City Ballet principal dancer, will star in the production, which will be conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, directed and designed by Doug Fitch, choreographed by Karole Armitage, and produced by Edouard Getaz - Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 28 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m.

Greenlist Productions presents Ryan Raftery's return to the Laurie Beechman Theatre for his fifth solo show, 'Ryan Raftery is Black and Better Than Ever: A Caucasian Celebration of the African-American Songbook'. The show sold out on March 3rd, and Raftery has added a second performance tonight, April 10 at 9:30 p.m.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMERICAN IDOL producer Nigel Lythgoe is denying reports that controversial judge Nicki Minaj will not be welcomed back for next season of the FOX singing competition.
