February 3rd, 2009 was a very special day at the Music Box Theatre because August: Osage County celebrated its 500th performance (that's a lot of drugs, fights, fish and smashed plates!), BroadwayWorld sent in the cameras to capture all the 'family fun'! Original cast members Kimberly Guerrero, Sally Murphy, Troy West and Mariann Mayberry returned to their roles direct from their recent smash-hit limited engagement in London. And, to top things off, Tony winner Elizabeth Ashley joined the cast in the role of 'Mattie Fae'.

August: Osage County, winner of five 2008 Tony Awards as well as the 2008 Pulitzer Prize, is proud to welcome Tony Award winner, ELIZABETH ASHLEY who joins the cast beginning Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 7:00 pm. ASHLEY, celebrating her fifth decade on Broadway, will play the role of 'Mattie Fae Aiken.'

Produced and directed by David Staller, Project Shaw's latest offering - Saint Joan, written by George Bernard Shaw performed on December 22nd at The Players Club. BroadwayWorld sent our cameras to capture the cast of what is always a special theatrical evening.

The will be first time a show will be offering rush tickets to seniors. Tickets at $46.50 will be made available at the box office two hours prior the performance time on the day of the performance only. The Senior Rush offer is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 pm (Senior Rush tickets available starting at 5:30 pm) and Wednesdays at 2 pm (Senior Rush tickets available starting at 12:00 pm). (Beginning, January 6, 2009, Tuesday performances are at 7:00 pm.).

One of today's hottest young actresses transcending both stage and screen is Madeleine Martin who began her professional theater career at 7 years old when she appeared in the Broadway National Tour of The Sound of Music with Richard Chamberlain. She appeared on Broadway in the title role A Day In the Death of Joe Egg at the age of 10 to much acclaim and allowing her to become the youngest presenter in history at the 2003 Tony Awards. BroadwayWorld took its cameras backstage for a fast chat with this sweet and charming performer to ask her questions about her roles on Broadway and in SHOWTIME's 'Californication' and being a child performer in the industry.

The stars of the Showtime Network were out in force on Wednesday September 24th to celebrate the upcoming premieres of 'Dexter' and 'Californication'. Michael C. Hall and Evan Handler were on hand to promote and represent their respective programs, while Mary-Louise Parker came out to support her fellow network stars. The event took place at the Showtime House. Mary-Louise Parker will star in the upcoming Broadway production of Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen. The production features a new adaptation by Christopher Shinn and will be directed by Ian Rickson.

The 22nd Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction held yesterday Sunday, September 21, raised a grand total of $496,380 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA).

The 22ND ANNUAL BROADWAY FLEA MARKET & GRAND AUCTION was held this Sunday, September 21 from 10 AM - 7 PM in Shubert Alley (225 West 45th Street). Celebrities of theater and daytime television came out to show their support. As in previous years, Broadway and daytime fans had the opportunity to get their photo taken with various celebrities at the Celebrity Photo Booths. Two Celebrity Photo Booths were be in operation on Sunday

PROJECT SHAW, now in its third of four years, continues tackling every play George Bernard Shaw ever wrote. This will be its 30th presentation, taking place on Monday, September 22nd, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South. David Staller is producer and director.

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg honored August: Osage County with a Mayor's Proclamation in honor of the show's 300th performance and continued success, stating that August: Osage County has 'yielded tremendous cultural and economic benefits for' New York City and has 'reaffirmed New York's proud heritage of welcoming the world's boldest, most powerful works of art.'
