Nathaniel Stampley and Alicia Hall Moran to Star in PORGY AND BESS National Tour, Kicking Off at the Ahmanson, 4/23

Casting has been announced for the national tour of 'The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess,' winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, which will open at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre on April 23 and play through June 1, 2014. (Preview on April 22.) The tour, accompanied by a 23-piece orchestra, is set to launch at San Francisco's Golden Gate Theatre this November.

Any grown woman can recall the uncertainties and trauma of girlhood. Gender aside, anyone can recall pivotal moments of their adolescence, such as being teased or longing to belong. ALL GIRLS is a hilarious and moving play that centers on three teenage girls as they struggle through adolescence and with all of the complexities of female friendships.

Theater 2020 to Host HEARTHSIDE READING SERIES at Brooklyn Public Library, 9/21

Theater 2020, Brooklyn Heights' professional theater company continues its outreach to the Brooklyn community with their FREE "Hearthside Reading Series." The September reading features two one act comedies, "The Thrice Three Muses" by Lynn Marie Macy & "Harold" by Theodore Herstand. The plays, which both present comic situations reflecting how people handle "maturing," will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in the first floor theater room at the Brooklyn Heights branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, and feature professional actors from the company. Running time is approximately 75 minutes, and refreshments will be served. No reservations are necessary.
