Goodman Theatre Launches 'Goodman Innovation Group' to Unite Theatre and Tech Entrepreneurs

The newly-formed Goodman Innovation Group unites top-tier entrepreneurs with young theater leaders in a collective that injects the start-up mentality into the business of the theater. The 20-member group was developed by Patricia Cox, Goodman Life Trustee and Immediate Past Chairman, along with Chicago entrepreneur Genevieve Thiers, as an opportunity to share ideas between the established non-profit arts organization and Chicago's brand new companies. The goals of the group are to engage young entrepreneurs in the vision, values and programs of Goodman Theatre; create professional development opportunities for the next generation of theater leaders; and identify initiatives emphasizing new technologies and further insights that advance the Goodman's mission and priorities.

William H. Macy & Virginia Madsen to Lead Independent Film WALTER

William H. Macy and Virginia Madsen have boarded the film, directed by Anna Mastro, as well as Peter Facinelli and Andrew J. West (who played the title role in the 2010 short film.) Milo Ventimiglia, Neve Campbell, and Leven Rambin also star.

Mirror Stage to Present Reading of David Mamet's RACE, 9/28-29

Mirror Stage's popular Feed Your Mind staged reading series returns this fall with the incendiary RACE by David Mamet, presented in partnership with the Pacific Science Center and Swimming Ophelia Ensemble at the Ethnic Cultural Theatre on September 28 and 29, 2013. The Swimming Ophelia Ensemble partnership enables Mirror Stage to continue deepening its relationship with the University of Washington, and all post-play discussions for RACE will be held at the Pacific Science Center with discount admission for Mirror Stage patrons to the Pacific Science Center exhibition RACE: Are We So Different?

BWW Reviews: Main Street Theater's ALICE IN WONDERLAND is Whimsical Family Fun

Main Street Theater's 2012-2013 Theater for Youth Season is closing with a musical presentation of ALICE IN WONDERLAND. The Prince Street Players, founded in New York City in 1965, originated the production, which featured Adaptation, Book, and Lyrics by Jim Eiler with Music by Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy. Main Street Theater's production captures the frenetic whimsy of Wonderland, complimented by the cast's resounding and remarkable youthful energy.

The gifted songwriter and dazzling singer has won two Grammy's, two MTV Awards and sold over 15 million records. David Murray is a Grammy award winner who is considered by many to be among the greatest and most versatile saxophonist, composers, and bandleaders this country has produced. This show will celebrate the release of his latest album, Be My Monster Love, available June 11th.

Official: Joe Manganiello to Lead Yale Rep's A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) has announced that Rene Augesen will play Blanche DuBois and Joe Manganiello will play Stanley Kowalski in its first-ever production of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, the Pulitzer Prize winning masterpiece by Tennessee Williams. Directed by Mark Rucker, the production, which will open Yale Rep's 2013-14 season, will play September 20-October 12, at the University Theatre (222 York Street).

The REP Announces 2013-14 Season: ALL MY SONS, VERA STARK, & More!

The REP, Point Park University's professional theatre company, will produce four works, including a world premiere and a Pittsburgh premiere, in the 2013-2014 season. The season begins Sept. 6 and runs through April 6, 2014, at the Pittsburgh Playhouse.
