McGovern creatively opens and closes the musical with an image that evokes all the glitter and glamor of old Hollywood: the presentation of the Academy Awards in 1941, the year that Ginger Rogers beat out such adversaries as Katharine Hepburn, Bette Davis, Joan Fontaine and Martha Scott for the best actress Oscar for her performance of "knocked-up shopgirl" Kitty Foyle.

What a difference a year makes. In The Boys Upstairs Equity Co-op's production of Glory Days, a musical by Nick Blaemire and James Gardiner, four best friends meet up a year after graduating high school. The plan is to catch up, relive some of those good old (glory) days, and pick their friendships up right where they dropped off. Turns out that's not so easy. With a soaring pop-rock score, Glory Days is a poignant and witty coming of age story about friends searching for understanding and validation as they face the consequences of growing up.
Starring some of Vancouver's hottest musical theatre talent, Darren Burkett, Adam Charles, Brandyn Eddy, and Colin Sheen, Glory Days is directed by actress and up-and-coming director Sara-Jeanne Hosie. Assistant directed by Mack Gordon. Musical direction by Nico Rhodes. Set and lighting designed by Ian Schmipf.

Ginger Newman and Kate Adams-Johnson have perfected the recipe for musical success: Take three ginger-haired beauties, pair them with three dark and handsome young men and add a musical score that includes some of the best-known and most-beloved songs of the 1930s and '40s. That's the winning formula the talented duo have mixed together to grand effect in The Keeton Theatre's production of The All Night Strut, the winning musical revue that is as effervescent as a glass of champagne and as entertaining as a Manhattan Transfer concert.
