NiCori Studios and Productions in association with Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center announces a new installment of the monthly concert series, 'Music at the Mansion', on Sunday, November 24, at 3pm. Performers include Carol Erickson, Warren Schein, and Garry Novikoff. The featured performer in the 'Young Musician Moment' will be Dean Schansinger.

Bob O'Hare made his cabaret debut in May of 2009 with 'Home: A Musical Journey.' It was a wonderful way to kick off his summer. It was well-received, with Sandi Durell lauding its 'carefully chosen songs cleverly intertwined' and 'truly realized' performances.

ANDREA MARCOVCCI is turning sixty-five this November! The tour kicks into high gear when it arrives on the east coast where Andrea debuts at both Joe's Pub (at the Public Theatre) in New York City and The Landmark Theatre in Pt. Washington, NY (Andrea's only scheduled Long Island appearance.) Plus - a return, after eight years, to the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, NY and an appearance at the new RRazz Room in New Hope, PA (More details below). What better way to celebrate her birthday, than to honor the singers and songwriters of the 1940's and '50's that inspired the current Queen of Cabaret. The new show, "Moonlight Cocktail," began in Los Angeles at Tom Rolla's Gardenia in preparation for Andrea's debut at Michael Feinstein's latest club - Feinstein's at the Nikko in San Francisco, and went on to an acclaimed engagement at Davenport's in Chicago.

Gas Lamp Players will be presenting the Broadway Musical, The Secret Garden, November 22-24. The Secret Garden tells the story of Mary Lennox, a young girl orphaned during the cholera epidemic in India, who is sent to live on a mysterious estate in Yorkshire, England. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden which beckons the children with haunting melodies, and the "Dreamers," spirits from Mary's past, who guide her through her new life, dramatizing The Secret Garden's compelling tale. Based on the famous novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, the stunning musical score and classic story combine to create a powerful and uplifting theatrical experience about the healing power of the earth, which allows for love to grow, heal and flourish. Pianist/Arranger/Conductor/SingerSongwriter and Miranda Recording Artist, Tracy Stark is a 6-time MAC Award winner, in the categories of Music Director, Piano Bar Entertainer, and Song of the Year. She is also a Bistro Award winner for Musical Direction, and winner of the Dottie Burman Songwriter of the Year Award. Tracy has worked with Lesley Gore, Phoebe Snow, Karen Black, Randy Jones (Village People), Barb Jungr, Eric Millegan, Tonya Pinkins, Ann Crumb, Marni Nixon, and hundreds of other rock, jazz, and broadway vocalists. She has conducted, played, and sung at all the finest and the sleaziest venues all over the world. She has played/conducted on numerous television shows, including The Today Show. Her songs are included on at least 20 different compilations, and have been winning accolades in songwriting competitions for the past 2 decades.

The evening is a centenary celebration of the lyrics of Sammy Cahn and the music of Jimmy Van Heusen and was conceived and directed by Grammy and Emmy Award winner, John McDaniel, during his first season as artistic director of the O'Neill Theater Center's Cabaret and Performance conference. Mr. McDaniel makes his New York directorial debut with this show.

After 45 years in show business, Andrea Marcovicci - aka The 'Queen of Cabaret' (KGO Radio) - celebrates her 65th birthday with a brand new concert at Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington on Saturday, November 23 at 8 PM.

For the first time in over fifty years, Harbinger Records will release 'Ballads for the Age of Science,' the most successful educational recordings of all time, as a six-CD box set. Featuring more than four dozen original songs written by Hy Zaret, co-author of the iconic popular song 'Unchained Melody,' and Lou Singer between 1959 and 1961, the albums introduced scientific concepts and terms using catchy, easy-to-learn lyrics and music to grade school students across America in the early 1960s.

The 24th New York Cabaret Convention ended its week with a special afternoon event at 54 Below! The event, produced by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, began with The New York Times's Stephen Holden interviewing jazz legend and original female be-bop pianist Barbara Carroll.

Corinna Sowers-Adler, Bloomfield resident and Wilkes University Graduate, is set to make her Lincoln Center debut in the 24th Annual New York Cabaret Convention today, October 10, 2013 at 6pm in Lincoln Center's 1,300 seat Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Created in 1985 as a not-for-profit arts organization, The Mabel Mercer Foundation serves to both perpetuate the memory and spirit of its legendary namesake and to stimulate and promote public interest world of cabaret. Currently in its third decade, the Foundation and its efforts have been perhaps best summarized and recognized by a recent commendation from The Oakland Tribune: 'Cabaret may not be thriving, but it is alive and well, thanks mainly to The Mabel Mercer Foundation and its support of wonderfully diverse talents.'
