Anna Ziegler's ACTUALLY Extends at Manhattan Theatre Club

Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere of Actually, the new play by Anna Ziegler (The Last Match, Photograph 51), directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz (Pipeline), announces a one week extension at The Studio at Stage II The Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series, now through December 10th.

UCI Drama presents Pulitzer-Winner Lynn Nottage's INTIMATE APPAREL

UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts Department of Drama continues its 2017 18 season The Business of Politics/The Politics of Business with Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel. Based on the life of Nottage's great grandmother, the 2004 play garnered numerous prizes, including Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel, and Obie Awards, as well as the 2004 Steinberg Award for Outstanding New Play. Telling the story of an African American seamstress in 1905 New York, the play explores themes of societal and interpersonal power, through the lenses of race, class, and the early evolution of the suffragette movement.

Everyman Theatre's production of INTIMATE APPAREL has been gaining rave reviews over the past few weeks. Their production of the Lynn Nottage work is not only wonderful, but also beautifully performed by a small cast of extremely talented actors. Dawn Ursula, who plays Esther whom the play revolves around gives a powerhouse performance. She's run through a gamut of emotions throughout the play and she does so flawlessly.

Roundabout Underground's TOO HEAVY FOR YOUR POCKET Enters Final Fortnight

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced a second extension week for its world premiere production of The Portuguese Kid, the new play written and directed by Tony, Pulitzer Prize, and Academy Award winner John Patrick Shanley, at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). Sexual harassment allegations have now hit the visual art world. Art Forum co-publisher Knight Landesman has resigned amid several allegations. More women have come forward. An open letter, begun by 10 members of a Whats App group, grew to 125 people within 24 hours, has been signed by luminaries including Cindy Sherman, Laurie Anderson, Lynn Nottage, Phyllida Barlow, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Tania Bruguera, and Jenny Holzer, whose work Abuse of Power Comes as No Surprise is on the landing page for the letter. Now, over 5,000 women have signed the letter to stop these practices.

Shakespeare & Company's 40th Anniversary Season Is A Success

Shakespeare & Company is excited to announce a very successful 40th Anniversary Season. Between May and October 2017, the Company sold more tickets per performance than during any other period of its 40-year history. The full run of The Tempest, which inaugurated the newly constructed outdoor Roman Garden Theatre, was at capacity.
