Urban Stages Announces HONKY Cast

Urban Stages has announced the cast for the World Premiere of Greg Kalleres' comedy HONKY, directed by Luke Harlan. HONKY will begin performances on Friday, March 8; Opening on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Urban Stages (259 West 30 Street). TinyRhino is UglyRhino's take on the ten-minute play evening. Each month UglyRhino commissions six short plays, 'each including the same five dramatic elements. On the night of the performance, these elements are revealed to the audience as cues to drink. That's right: we've created a theatrical drinking game!'

Brick Theater Hosts Democracy Festival, Now thru 7/1

The Brick is extending its annual Summer Theme Festival Series with DEMOCRACY, a summer theater festival of the people, by the people, and for the people. Throughout the month of June, 8 candidates will campaign against each other through a series of Public Appearances (i.e., performances) for the title of President of The Brick. The elected official will be given reign over The Brick for two weeks during January 2013, and will be in charge of curating all programming during this time period. The Presidential election will be held live at The Brick (575 Metropolitan Ave | Brooklyn NY) on Sunday, July 1. All voters must cast their ballot in person.
