Democrats reportedly seeking 'young pop artists' for next month's four night prime-time telecast.

The annual Educating for Justice gala sponsored by the John Jay College Foundation Board of Trustees raised over $800,000 gross - a record amount - and drew 325 friends and supporters of the College. Proceeds from the gala will support scholarships and programs that help students achieve their academic and career goals. Check out photos below!

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Shelian-Shanks) gathered yesterday, May 20th, for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, hosted by 2016 Tony® Award-nominees, Zachary Levi (She Loves Me) and Megan Hilty (Noises Off), in the Broadway Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). John Jay College of Criminal Justice will honor Lin-Manuel Miranda, Grammy Award-winning composer, lyricist, performer, 2015 MacArthur Foundation Award recipient and 2016 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Drama, as part of its Educating for Justice Gala.

What wasn't as highly publicized was a second honor Miranda received just hours before the Pulitzer announcement was made.

A Spanish language, English subtitled video for Telemundo/NBC features the author/star and his parents.

The special award and accompanying prize of $50,000 were presented to Miranda at a ceremony in New York City on December 14, 2015, and BroadwayWorld has a video of the presentation right here!

HAMILTON and IN THE HEIGHTS creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda will receive the Nuestro Orgullo Award during this year's Puerto Rican Day Parade. Fellow Puerto Rican theater star Rita Moreno will be this year's grand marshall at the parade.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre, recognized its award winners for the 2014-15 season in 24 categories yesterday, May 21st at 4PM at the legendary Sardi's Restaurant. Below, check out photos from the event!

Earlier this year, Lin-Manuel Miranda held a benefit concert at the United Palace for Cultural Arts, In The Heights: In Concert which was presented by Viva Broadway, an initiative of The Broadway League that aims to promote Broadway theatre within the Latino Community. A surplus of ticket sales proceeds went towards The Broadway League's Family First Nights initiative - a nationwide program specifically designed to encourage economically disadvantaged families to attend theatre and local arts programs.

The event, to be held today, October 4th, will honor the school's founder - and Lin-Manuel's father - Luis A. Miranda, Jr. Guests will attend a pre-show reception at Trattoria Dopo Teatro, followed by a special performance of Bring It On: The Musical at the St. James Theater. Funds raised at the benefit will support direct academic intervention for Amber's young students in an Upper Manhattan district which has traditionally faced tough challenges with literacy and learning achievement.

Viva Broadway, a new audience development partnership with the Hispanic community, to help bridge the world of Broadway with Latino audiences around the country. The Viva Broadway advisory board includes Lucie Arnaz, Raúl Esparza, Gabriela García, John Leguizamo, Bianca Marroquín, Karen Olivo, Chita Rivera, Luis Salgado and Sergio Trujillo, among others.

Last Tuesday, April 27, leaders from entertainment, business and culture gathered in the grand lobby of Hollywood's historic Pantages Theatre to Unite For IN THE HEIGHTS, Broadway's 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, which will celebrate its Los Angeles premiere this summer.

On Thursday June 4th, Lin-Manuel Miranda had his very own Broadway Wall of Fame portrait unveiled at the popular theater district Italian eatery, Tony DiNapoli's. Tony DiNapoli's is located at 147 43rd Street.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the 29-year-old creator, lyricist, composer and original lead of the Tony Award-winning musical 'In the Heights,' will become the youngest honorary doctoral degree recipient in Yeshiva University's 123-year-old history at the University's 78th Commencement, Thursday, May 14, 11 a.m., Madison Square Garden's WaMu Theater, 7th Ave. at 32nd St., Manhattan.
