Carnegie Hall's Fall FAMILY DAY Celebrates Storytelling Through Music, 9/23

On Sunday, September 23 from 12 to 4 p.m., children and families will have the opportunity to take part in free, interactive musical activities as part of Fall Family Day in Carnegie Hall's Resnick Education Wing. This musical open house celebrates storytelling, with master storytellers and acclaimed musicians coming together for a variety of fun activities throughout the day. Children will have the chance to contribute to stories through music, dance, and visual art, as well as build and perform on their own storytelling sticks. Families will also get an introduction to film scoring and learn how a soundtrack can affect the mood of a story. The day will be highlighted by high-energy performances from hip-hop duo Soul Science Lab. Admission is granted on a first-come, first-served basis, and families are welcome to drop by for a visit or stay throughout the day for a musical adventure of their choice.

Uptown Players Announces Lineup for Gay History Play Festival

Uptown Players, a professional theater group located in the Uptown area of Dallas, has announced its programming for its upcoming Gay History Play Festival. From September 28 through October 19, 2018, Uptown Players will present three plays with themes that focus on Gay History.

MAD Announces Burke Prize 2018 Finalists And Exhibition

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) is proud to announce the finalists for the inaugural Burke Prize for contemporary craft. The prize, named for craft collectors Marian and Russell Burke, drew an outstandingly diverse and highly competitive pool of five hundred artists working to expand the field of craft. Open to professional artists under the age of forty-five working in glass, fiber, clay, metal, or wood, the Burke Prize was determined by a jury of professionals in the fields of art, craft, and design.

Cirque Du Soleil OVO Launches UK Arena Tour

Cirque du Soleil tonight launched its first UK arena tour of OVO with a star-studded premiere at the Echo Arena Liverpool. A colourful celebration of nature and co-existence, OVO brings its fun-filled production for the whole family to arenas across the country. The show will be performing in Liverpool until this Sunday 19 August, before visiting Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and finally Belfast, ending on 21 October 2018. Theater Project Jr Presents HELLO, DOLLY!

Fourteen New Jersey young people will perform in Hello, Dolly! this year's presentation by THEATER PROJECT JR. Each summer, the program takes students (ages 8 & up) through an eight-week course that culminates in four performances for friends, family and the community. Along the way, students sing, dance, act, build confidence in themselves, make friends and have a wonderful time. The show will be presented at the Hamilton Stage in Rahway, August 10-12.
