To commemorate Ludwig van Beethoven's 238th Birthday, Florida Studio Theatre Artistic Director and Opus Director, Richard Hopkins and the Sarasota Orchestra's Artistic Director and Conductor, Maestro Leif Bjaland will discuss their artistic vision and the 'inner workings' and collaboration of two pivotal arts organizations in Sarasota!

The full cast has been announced for the West Coast premiere of 33 Variations at La Jolla Playhouse.

The West Coast premiere of the new play 33 Variations, opens La Jolla Playhouse's 2008/2009 season. Written and directed by renowned theatre artist Moisés Kaufman, the play illuminates the past and present using projections of Beethoven's original sheet music and a live on-stage concert pianist. 33 Variations will open April 8 in the Mandel Weiss Theatre at La Jolla Playhouse and continue through May 4, 2008.

On the heels of the acclaimed productions of George Gershwin Alone and Monsieur Chopin, the Geffen Playhouse announces the highly anticipated culmination of Hershey Felder's Composer Trilogy, Beethoven, As I Knew Him, to kick off the theater's 2008-09 season.
