The upcoming performances will build upon their recent run of shows in the intimate, storied New York City lounge, favorites not only of music fans and critics, but also of fellow artists. Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch shows are a place where some of the city's foremost entertainers go to commune with their own-and sometimes sit-in for a song or two-on their nights off. Based on one of the most popular children's book characters of all time, the production features 24 local girls performing alongside professional actors in two irresistibly adorable casts. Madeline and her friends are sure to enchant audiences of all ages with their holiday adventure filled with laughter, magic, and newfound friends.

Westport Country Playhouse announces its 2013-14 Family Festivities Series beginning in the fall, featuring musicals based on children's classic stories, including 'Madeline and the Bad Hat,' and an adaptation of Broadway's 'Seussical,' as well as daredevil acrobatics, magic, puppetry, and glowing electroluminescent creatures.
Westport Country Playhouse will open its 2013-14 Family Festivities Series with the musical, "Madeline and the Bad Hat," based on Ludwig Bemelmans' "Madeline" classic books, on Sunday, November 17, 1 and 4 p.m. The story traces the adventures of a young Parisian girl who, despite starting off on the wrong foot with a mischievous new neighbor, eventually learns that first impressions aren't everything. Produced by ArtsPower, the show is recommended for grades K - 2. Running time is approximately one hour. Family Festivities shows are presented on selected Sundays from November through March, at 1 and 4 p.m. Pre-show activities begin one hour before each performance at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets are $20.
