Houston Ballet Presents Acclaimed Canadian Troupe Les Grands Ballets Canadiens De Montréal In Cullen Series, 2/1 & 2

On Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2, 2013, Houston Ballet presents Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal as part of the Cullen Series. One of the missions of the Cullen Series is to introduce the city to exciting contemporary dance makers. Under the artistic direction of Gradimir Pankov, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal will perform Cantata and Four Seasons by Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti. Four Seasons is set to Antonio Vivaldi's score of the same name. The twelve-movement ballet highlights classical technique with contemporary motion. Cantata features live traditional Southern Italian music by Gruppo Musicale Assurd, a quartet of female singers from Italy. Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal will give two performances in the Cullen Theater at Wortham Theater Center in downtown Houston. Little Grey Cells, Mercury Theatre Colchester Present TU I TERAZ (HERE & NOW), Beginning Tonight

Little Grey Cells in association with Mercury Theatre Colchester present Tu I Teraz (Here & Now). Tu I Teraz, written by Nicola Werenowska and directed by Sam Potter will run at The Hampstead Theatre Downstairs from tonight, 18 December to 19 January, with press night on 20 December. Tu I Teraz has set design by Kerry Bradley, lighting by Matt O'Leary and sound by Steve Mayo, and the cast is Ania Sowinski (Marysia), Anna Elijasz (Ana) and George Lasha (Janusz).

CSO Opens Regular 2012-13 Concert Season with TCHAIKOVSKY & SCHUBERT, 10/12

The Columbus Symphony, CSO Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni, and guest pianist Nareh Arghamanyan will perform the first 2012-13 regular season concert program, Tchaikovsky & Shubert. From the soaring, folk-flavored themes of Tchaikovsky's beloved Piano Concerto No. 1 to Schubert's expansive and exhilarating final symphony, melody reigns supreme in this enthralling program. Winner of the 2008 Montreal International Music Competition, Armenian-born Nareh Arghamanyan is one of the finest pianists of today's promising young generation and will perform the Tchaikovsky work. The program will also include Glinka's Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla.

Paris Opera Ballet's LA SOURCE Broadcasts in Theaters Today, 8/26

La Source, a ballet in two acts, features choreography by Jean-Guillaume Bart and music by Leo Delibes and Ludwig Minkus. It will be shown in HD from the Paris Opera Ballet at The Palais Garnier today, August 26th, 11:00 a.m. EST. Running time is 136 minutes, plus one intermission. The broadcast was captured live at the November 4, 2011, performance.

Oratorio Society of New York Presents All-Czech Program at Carnegie Hall Tonight

The Oratorio Society of New York presents an all-Czech program featuring a masterwork of the choral repertoire and a world premiere to conclude its 139th season tonight, April 26, 2012, at 8:00 PM at Carnegie Hall. OSNY Music Director Kent Tritle conducts, for the first time, Dvorak's Stabat mater, as well as the world premiere of an OSNY commission: Song of Solomon by Juraj Filas, one of the most prominent composers of the Czech Republic. The program's soloists are Rachel Rosales, soprano; Charlotte Daw Paulsen, mezzo-soprano; John Bellemer, tenor; and Ben Wager, bass.

The Arizona premiere and winner of the Best New Play in Chicago Award ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT is a highly stylized, moving, and thought-provoking play written by award winning playwright Shirley Lauro, inspired by interviews with German Gentile women who lived through the Third Reich.

What would YOU do if the Nazis came to power? How would your daily life be changed? This is the question asked by ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT, winner of Best New Play in Chicago Award, which premieres in Arizona at Theater Works beginning April 13. ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT is inspired by interviews with German Gentile women who lived through the Third Reich. The play's sweep follow them from their teen years through adulthood as they struggle with the trials of everyday living - work, religion, marriage, motherhood -under the Nazi regime. Facing impossible choices, they survive or succumb and all are changed forever.

Contra Costa County's only professional orchestra, California Symphony, presents the second regular concert of its 25th Anniversary Season, the Romance of the Cello, featuring world-renowned cellist and classical music "rock star" Joshua Roman. Internationally renowned conductor Robert Moody will lead this performance, featuring Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto, and Sergei Rachmaninoff's towering Symphony No. 2.
