WAM Theatre Sets New Fresh Takes Season

WAM Theatre has announced the line-up for its second season of Fresh Takes Staged Readings at No. Six Depot Roastery and Cafe in West Stockbridge. The first series last year sold out all five readings, and whetted the appetites of area audiences for more professional readings of plays that explore the lives and experiences of women and girls. Each reading is followed by a talkback with the actors and directors.

WAM Theatre Reveals 2015 Season Highlights: EMILIE, Fresh Takes & More!

WAM Theatre's Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven announced highlights of the 2015 season today. The Berkshire-based professional theatre company will celebrate its sixth year with an inspiring and thought-provoking series of play readings, special events, productions and educational programs that continue its mission to use theatre to benefit women and girls.

Full Casting Revealed for World Premiere of AFTER ELECTRA

Artistic Director of Theatre Royal Plymouth Simon Stokes today announces the full cast for the world premiere of April de Angelis' After Electra. Samuel West directs Michael Begley (Roy), Rachel Bell (Sheila), Marty Cruickshank (Virgie), Kate Fahy (Sonia), Neil McCaul (Tom), Veronica Roberts (Haydn), James Wallace (Orin) and Eleanor Wyld (Miranda). The production opens on 16 March at The Drum, Theatre Royal Plymouth, with previews from 12 March, and runs until 28 March, before transferring to the Tricycle Theatre from 7 April to 2 May.

West End's THE NETHER to Host Post-Show Talkbacks

The Nether will host post-show Q&A talks during the play's West End run at the Duke of York's Theatre. With members of the creative team, as well as further guests from the worlds of theatre, the media, gaming and technology industries, there will be 6 Q&A talks after selected performances of the play. All Q&A talks are free for The Nether ticket holders.

Nicholas Hytner to Direct Cuba-Set Adaptation of Bizet's CARMEN in 2016

The Daily Mail writes that Nicholas Hytner has zeroed in on his first big project following his departure from the National Theatre -- a new version of Bizet's CARMEN with book by Lucy Prebble. Hytner led an informal read through of the new adaptation last weekend, and the production is aiming for the West End in 2016.

Sarah Kane Season Announced For Sheffield Theatres in 2015!

Continuing the company's tradition for dedicating seasons to playwrights whose work has influenced a generation, this year Sheffield will stage the complete works of the playwright Sarah Kane, with productions of Blasted, directed by Richard Wilson, and Crave and 4.48 Psychosis, directed by Charlotte Gwinner.

SYLVIA, ENRON, 4000 MILES and More Set for 2nd Story Theatre's 2014-15 Season

Cats may have nine lives, but 2nd Story's top dog, Sylvia, has two. AR Gurney's personable pooch is making a return visit to satisfy all the customers who were turned away during last spring's sold out run.
