Cape Cod Theatre Project's 2015 Season to Feature New Works by Hnath, Jacqmin, Armento & King

Artistic Director Hal Brooks has announced that the 21st Season of the Cape Cod Theatre Project will feature staged readings of new work by Lucas Hnath, Laura Jacqmin, Kevin Armento, and actor-turned-playwright Ryan King. The 2015 Season, the fourth under Mr. Brooks' leadership, runs weekends from July 2 through July 25, 2015 in Falmouth, MA.

The Assembly's THAT POOR DREAM Opens at The Tank Tonight

The Tank, a non-profit arts presenter located in the heart of midtown, is proud to present The Assembly's That Poor Dream, a new play set on a train traveling from New York City to Fairfield, CT. Following a successful run at The New Ohio Theatre in the fall of 2014, the company has continued development work on the piece and will be performing an updated version. Inspired by Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, the work unites worlds divided by geography, privilege, and time. Drawing on the company's own complex relationship to class identity and economic disparity in American society, The Assembly's newest creation explores how class defines and separates us, and how our shared humanity might bring us closer together.

Public Theater Sets Line-Up for 11th Annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL; Runs Jan 7-18

The Public Theater announced the exciting international line-up today for the 11th annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, running January 7-18, 2015. This popular and highly-anticipated program of The Public Theater's winter season will include artists from across the U.S. and around the world, including Argentina, Iran, Switzerland, Spain, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. Curated by Co-Directors Mark Russell and Meiyin Wang, this year's UNDER THE RADAR will also mark the launch of the new Devised Theater Working Group which will present eight works-in-process as part of the festival's INCOMING! Series.

Sundance Institute Sets Projects, Artists for Fall Theatre Labs

Sundance Institute today announced the projects and artists that will participate in its two Fall artist development programs: the inaugural Playwrights Studio at Flying Point in Water Mill, NY (October 19-26), as well as the two-week Theatre Lab (November 30 - December 14) for musical theatre, ensemble-generated projects and solo work at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA). Under the supervision of Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the initiatives are among the Theatre Program's five annual Labs and Residencies for theatre artists and part of the 24 artist residency labs across many creative disciplines Sundance Institute offers annually.

UPON THE FRAGILE SHORE Reading, Talkback Set for Tonight at New Dramatists

Oscar-nominated screenwriter Lucy Alibar ('Beasts of the Southern Wild') joins public conversation following New Dramatists alumni reading of 2012 OBIE Award-winning playwright Caridad Svich's new play Upon the Fragile Shore tonight, October 16, 2014 at 7 PM, and The Drama League in New York City hosts its reading of the play on November 8 under Gabriel Shanks' direction as part of global artivist action centered on this work of intertwining monologues, which explores human rights and environmental issues around the world especially in relationship to human-made tragedies and their aftermath.

The Tank Stages New York Premiere of THIRD FLOOR, Beginning Today

The Tank, a non-profit arts presenter located in the heart of midtown, is proud to present the New York premiere Third Floor, a new play by Jason Hall, directed by Laura Pittenger, featuring Brad Root and Abigail Ludrof, with original compositions by Adam Cuthbert (universe explosion for the Bang on a Can Summer Festival), fight choreography by Meron Langsner (who has worked at The American Repertory Theatre and ArtsEmerson), and produced by LA Pittenger Productions. The show comes to The Tank following a successful engagement at the Lower Ossington Theatre in Toronto produced by DeCo. The show runs today, October 10-11, 17-18 at 7pm, with a 3pm performance October 19 at The Tank, 151 West 46th Street, 8th Floor in Manhattan.

New plays, short films, clowning, improv, and a panel discussion are all included. The Festival features both new work and tributes to noir classics. The Tank, a non-profit arts presenter located in the heart of midtown, will present {Your Name Here} Queer Theater Company's Summer Shorts as part of The Tank's LGBTQ Pride Festival. Your Name Here (David Macke, Artistic Director) offers a fun evening of four short plays by queer playwrights that range from a chance encounter in a hotel room to finding love within the arms of a puma to finding something remarkably in common with one's own bully. The shows will be performed today, July 12 and Sunday, July 13 at 5 pm at The Tank.
