As a highlight of its 13th Anniversary Season, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County has planned a spectacular evening for all arts and culture enthusiasts to enjoy. Hosted inside its beautiful Ziff Ballet Opera House on Saturday, April 6, the Arsht Center's 13TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT: MIAMI FUSION will feature a star-studded show starring multi Grammy Award-winning sensation JUANES and Tony Award-winning Broadway legend, BRIAN STOKES MITCHELL.
The League of Professional Theatre Women (Kelli Lynn Harrison & Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents), an organization which has been leading the gender parity conversation and championing women in the professional theatre for over 35 years, will present an Oral History Project event with six-time Emmy and Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh on Monday, May 6 starting at 6pm in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (111 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street). Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce the first show of the 2019 Mainstage Season will be the World Premiere of THE PROMPTER (May 28- June 16) a new comedy by Wade Dooley; directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director. The other two previously announced shows will be the World Premiere of SAFE SPACE, which will now run from June 25 - July 21. This new play is by Alan Fox and will be directed by three-time Tony Award Winner Jack O'Brien (All My Sons, Hairspray, The Coast of Utopia). The third show will be a bold new re-envisioning of Irving Berlin's classic musical ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, (July 30 - August 25) with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, book by Herbert & Dorothy Fields. Pittsburgh CLO will launch its second New Musicals Weekend, a project of the Next Generation Campaign's New Small Musicals Initiative. New Musicals Weekend, the mini version of the SPARK festival, takes the core goals of SPARK and puts them into action over just a few days. Similar to SPARK, New Musicals Weekend aims to develop new musicals for the CLO Cabaret by supporting writing teams with financial and creative resources and by building relationships with local and national artists.

Noche Flamenca, the renowned company founded by Artistic Director Mart n Santangelo and dancer Soledad Barrio, continues, has added Refugiados ( Refugees ), created from poems by children in refugee camps, to Entre Tu y Yo (Between You and Me), the evening-length program of duets, solos, and ensemble works Noche Flamenca performs at New York City's Connelly Theater, March 8-31. To develop Refugiados first created 15 years ago, and further developed for the engagement at the Connelly Santangelo and the company took the children's poems, translated them to Spanish, and set them to song and dance.
