St. James Studio Announces Full Schedule for LONDON FESTIVAL OF CABARET, April 22

The St. James Studio is delighted to once again be a host venue for the fourth London Festival of Cabaret. Nine events will take place at the St. James over the course of the festival, which will run from Friday 22 April to Sunday 8 May in venues across London including The Pheasantry and the Crazy Coqs. Highlights at the St. James include Sarah Louise Young and Michael Roulston's brand new show Cabaret Whore Presents…La Poule Plombee and The Jay Rayner Quartet.

5 p.m.Following a 10-week engagement wowing audiences and critics alike in the first-ever season for an improvised musical in the West End, the run of SHOWSTOPPER! THE IMPROVISED MUSICAL is being extended, with a transfer to the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. For just 10 more performances between 15th February and 25th July, audience suggestions will be transformed instantly into all-singing, all-dancing shows with unpredictable and hilarious results.

On Monday 8 June, there were major cast changes for MAMMA MIA! in London. Mazz Murray joined the cast as Tanya, Jo Napthine as Rosie, Gabriella Williams as Sophie Sheridan and James Darch as Sky. Also joining the cast from 8 June were Louise Young as Ali, Stephanie Fearon as Lisa, Dan Partridge as Pepper and Rory Phelan as Eddie. Dianne Pilkington continues to star as Donna Sheridan, with Richard Trinder as Sam, Alasdair Harvey as Harry and Charles Daish as Bill. While the frat boys parked their boozy asses in the bar car (aka the couch) for the long road to the NCAA's Final Four over the past few weeks, NYC's village cabaret club The Duplex offered an alternative "March Madness": Cabaret shows about being crazy. As a devotee of time on a different sort of couch, I was drawn in to three separate performances--from Michael Shea, Stacie Koby, and Amber Petty--seeking some music therapy to get me through the tail end of a long winter.
