The Long Island Music Hall of Fame (LIMHoF) has announced some of the very special presenters who will help induct the 2018 class during a red-carpet gala and ceremony taking place November 8, 2018 at The Space at Westbury (250 Post Avenue, Westbury, New York). Presenters this year include six-time Grammy Award winner Billy Joel, VP of Columbia Records and the man who signed Michael Jackson - Ron Alexenburg, Senior Director of Music Programming at SIRIUSXM - Lou Simon, The Cowsills, Chuck D & DJ Chuck Chillout, Jackie (Jokeman) Martling, and Live Nation Promoter Christian McKnight, with more to be confirmed.

Following five previous sold-out engagements, Feinstein's at the Nikko welcomes back Grammy Award winner and two-time Emmy Award nominee Steve Tyrell for four performances only-Thursday, February 28 (8 p.m.); Friday, March 1 (8 p.m.); Saturday, March 2 (8 p.m.) andSunday, March 3 (5 p.m.).

The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and Louis Armstrong House Museum (LAHM) today announced that the City has allocated $1.9 million in new capital funding for LAHM to support the renovation of Selma's House, an integral part of the expanding Louis Armstrong cultural center campus in Corona. This brings total City investment in the renovation of Selma's House to $3.53 million. Now fully funded, the project will enable the restoration and renovation of the historic house of Selma Heraldo, long-time neighbor and close friend of Louis and Lucille Armstrong. Selma's House, as it is commonly called, is located next to the Louis Armstrong House, a National and NYC Landmark.

The Town of Berlin may be small but it's sporting some really BIG talent in a really cool spot.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 92-year-old Palace Theatre has received a full facelift of its 2,691-seat auditorium. The first major renovation for the Palace since 1984, the six-month, main-hall makeover included the repair of damaged plaster, new paint in a new color scheme, all-new seats on the main floor, full refurbishment of balcony seats, and installation of a new LED house lighting system in the dome and main chandelier. The first public performance in the fully renovated auditorium will be Grammy-nominated comedian Jim Gaffigan on Friday, November 2.

Carrying forward the 'Hot Jazz' legacy of the great Django Reinhardt, this internationally renowned group features one of Europe's greatest musical families, guitarist/violinist Dorado Schmitt and his son Amati. The family is joined by virtuoso violinist Pierre Blanchard and accordionist extraordinaire Ludovic Beier, who 'played as great a solo on his accordion as Toots Thielemans at his zenith' (Downbeat). 'Dorado Schmitt's virtuosity was on full display via lightning-fast finger work, powerful strumming, wild sweeps across the fingerboard and astonishingly fast tempos. Schmitt displayed complete mastery of Gypsy jazz guitar technique' (Los Angeles Times).

Make Music Winter, a free, outdoor music-making celebration featuring 12 participatory musical parades across New York City on the winter solstice, returns this year on Friday, Dec. 21. The all-day musical celebration on the shortest day of the year brings New Yorkers of all styles, ages and skill levels together to sing, play, march and dance their way across streets, parks, plazas and other public spaces citywide. Make Music Winter, which launched in NYC eight years ago and this year is expanding nationwide with more than 20 U.S. cities participating, is the cold-weather counterpart to Make Music Day, the annual global celebration of music occurring on June 21, the summer solstice.

Vocalist Jan Daley, who resumed her career last year after a nearly 20-year absence, landing two bestselling CD's at the top of the Billboard Jazz Chart, will perform her new show, "An Evening With Jan Daley," at the popular Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood on Wed., Nov. 14 at 8:30 PM.

To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, three-time GRAMMY® nominee Joey Alexander will release A Joey Alexander Christmas, a four-track digital-only EP, set for November 2 release on Motéma Music. The EP follows the release of the 15-year-old's critically acclaimed spring album Eclipse as well as his recent September collaboration on the socially conscious Legion of Peace project.

The sounds of the big band era will resonate during the Jazz Season Opener at the Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum on Monday, October 22 at 7:30PM.

Satchmo comes to life on stage as he is portrayed by another famous New Orleanian, Barry Shabaka Henley, a veteran actor with 25 years of stage, screen, and film credits that only define the career of a man who is capable of successfully pulling off such a complex roll. (Henley's Acting Bio) Drama Desk, Obie, and Olivier Award winner, Henley, will wow you as he radiantly delves into the heart and mind of the jazz legend, as well as portraying the other two men who both shaped and shook the man, Joe Glaser and Miles Davis.  Henley effortlessly glides between the three characters, and the seamless staging transports your mind to another time and place making each moment hypnotically authentic.   

The Chicago Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Jeff Lindberg, kicks off the company's 40th anniversary season with A CJO Salute to Nancy Wilson, Saturday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Studebaker Theater, 410 S. Michigan Ave. in Chicago's Fine Arts Building. Single tickets are $35 (balcony) and $45 (floor).
