The BSO presents A Christmas Carol in Concert, a new twist on Dickens' classic tale performed as a concert with a full symphony orchestra on Friday, December 16th at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 17th at 7:30 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.

The producers of Ghost The Musical announced today that Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy will reprise their starring roles as Sam and Molly, which they originated in London's hit West End production, when it premieres this Spring at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street). They will be joined by Bryce Pinkham as Carl Bruner and newcomer Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Oda Mae Brown. Preview performances will begin on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Opening night is confirmed for Monday, April 23, 2012.

The Joyce Theater Foundation will present the NYC premiere of Angel Reapers, a new dance/theater piece with text by Alfred Uhry and direction and choreography by Martha Clarke for a two-week limited run from November 29 - December 11.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series has announced the return of Zach James, currently starring as Lurch in Broadway's The Addams Family, along with many friends, to celebrate the holidays at Birdland on Monday, December 12 at 7pm.

MCC Theater has announced the complete cast for the newly reworked and fully re-imagined production of Carrie, the musical. Carrie features music by Michael Gore, lyrics by Dean Pitchford (Academy Award winning composer and lyricist for the original film Fame) and a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (who also adapted the 1974 novel by Stephen King for the 1976 Brian DePalma film). Directed by Stafford Arima, performances for Carrie begin January 31, 2012, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC). The official opening night is set for March 1, 2012.

The 2011 Kurt Weill Book Prize for outstanding scholarship in music theater since 1900, carrying a cash prize of $5,000, has been awarded to Larry Stempel, Professor of Music at Fordham University, for his book Showtime: A History of the Broadway Musical Theater (W.W. Manhattan Theatre Club has just announced that Tony and Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon will return to MTC to star in the Broadway premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play WIT by Margaret Edson, directed by MTC's award-winning Artistic Director Lynne Meadow. The limited engagement of WIT will begin previews Thursday, January 5, 2012 and open Thursday, January 26, 2012 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

Seventy-three years after its Broadway premiere, Kurt Weill and Maxwell Anderson's Knickerbocker Holiday can finally be heard in its first full recording, released on CD by Ghostlight Records on June 28, 2011.
