Tony Award-winners Chita Rivera and Karen Ziemba, Norman Norman Jewison, Academy Award-winning director of the 1971 film version of Fiddler on the Roof (Irving Thalberg Award Recipient), and Ambassador Ido Aharoni, Counsul General of Israel, were just some of the stars who took part in Raising the Roof, an all-star benefit concert celebrating the 100th anniversary of The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene, the 50th Anniversary of iconic American musical, Fiddler on the Roof, and the 90th birthday of its Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-winning lyricist, Sheldon Harnick, last night, June 9 at New York's The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street). Joshua Bell, Frank London, Austin Pendleton and Jackie Hoffman have joined the lineup for Raising the Roof - an all-star benefit concert celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Fiddler on the Roof, its Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-winning lyricist, Sheldon Harnick, and the 100thanniversary of The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene - on Monday, June 9th, at New York's The Town Hall.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Fiddler on the Roof, Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick will be honored and will perform with the largest-ever reunion of original, revival and film cast members as part of an all-star benefit concert for The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene on Monday, June 9th, at New York's Town Hall.

While most everyone is familiar with the tragic tale of Anne Frank and her family, fewer know the story of HANNA SENESH, although there have been books, movies and plays made about her extraordinary experiences. Hannah was a woman driven by her passion for life, and she was also a writer, having written both poems and plays, as well as a detailed journal. Playwright David Schecter (in collaboration with Lori Wilner) has done an exceptional job of turning these seemingly disparate elements into a thoroughly engaging work, and The New Jewish Theatre is currently presenting a very special production that demands your time and attention this holiday season.

Peter Van Wagner, star of this summer's DANCING ON NAILS at Theatre 80, will be this week's special guest on the popular WPKN (89.5 FM) Radio program 'State of the Arts' tomorrow (Friday) between noon and 1 PM. The interview, which was recorded before the producers announced the play's recent closing, can also be heard at www.wpkn.org.

DANCING ON NAILS, a new play by Paul Manuel Kane, will end its Off-Broadway run tonight, July 31st at Theatre 80. Under the direction of Allen Lewis Rickman, the cast of DANCING ON NAILS features Peter Van Wagner (Isaac Ginsburg on HBO's “Boardwalk Empire”), Lori Wilner (FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK), Bryna Weiss (“House,” “Gilmore Girls,”THE ENCORE OF TONY DURAN), Michael Lewis (THE YOUNG MAN FROM ATLANTA, 'Blue Bloods'), and Jazmyn Richardson(“Party at Micah's”).

Film & TV veteran Bryna Weiss is joining the cast of DANCING ON NAILS, a new play by Paul Manuel Kane, for the final two performances tomorrow (Wednesday) at Theatre 80. She is replacing Lauren Klein (in the role of Luba Fogel) who had a prearranged departure after the July 24th opening to star as Linda Loman in the Denver Center Theatre Company production of Death of a Salesman, which is set to open next month.
