David Mirvish brings the The Shaw Festival's acclaimed sold-out hit production of Tom Stoppard's ARCADIA to Toronto. This multilayered masterpiece straddling time and space, order and chaos, is directed by Eda Holmes and begins a strictly limited engagement from November 4th to December 14th at the Royal Alexandra Theatre as the second show in the 2014-15 Mirvish Subscription Season.

The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) today announced the participants of the third cycle of the BAM Professional Development Program (BAM PDP), led by BAM and the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the University of Maryland. The companies for this session represent mixed disciplines ranging from dance to theater to opera. Chosen by a BAM-convened panel, the organizations taking part in this session are Encompass New Opera Theatre, Satellite Collective, Summation Dance, and Treehouse Shakers. As with the previous sessions, the DeVos Institute extended invitations to a group of organizations to apply for the training portion of the BAM PDP-expanding the program's reach beyond Brooklyn-based companies. These additional organizations taking part in the program areBalletNext, Beth Morrison Projects, S? Percussion, and Zvi Dance.

Living, in England, he has gained a reputation as one of modern English language's greatest playwrights. The recipient of an Academy Award and four Tony Awards, it is generally agreed by theatre analysts that 'Arcadia,' a production of which is now on stage at Mamai Theatre, is one of the western world's greatest plays.

The National Portrait Gallery, London, has announced today, Thursday 3 April, that it is to hold a significant exhibition exploring the life and achievements of Virginia Woolf, one of the most important and celebrated writers of the twentieth century. Virginia Woolf: Art, Life and Vision, on display from 10 July until 26 October, will feature painted portraits, photographs, drawings and rare archival material, including a letter to her sister, Vanessa Bell, written shortly before her suicide.
