Riot Grrrls, a faction of Taffety Punk Theatre Company dedicated to all-female productions of the Bard's works, has come up with a low-tech, low-cost, intimate staging that is as finely tuned as anything you'd pay big bucks for uptown.

This timeless presentation is definitely one that needs to be seen. At just $15 a ticket, Taffety makes Shakespeare accessible to everyone and, to my mind, is among the most successful in the city at doing justice to the material - regardless of ticket price.
Taffety Punk's Bootleg version of LOVE'S LABOURS LOST promised to be a show full of action and excitement. On both counts it did not disappoint. And the best part? The show was absolutely free. Directed by Lise Bruneau, this one-night-only showing had a line waiting on standby for more than an hour before the show began. The anticipation was palpable as soon as you stepped inside the magnificent Folger Theatre.
This show is worth a look for the adventurous DC theatregoer. One has to admire Taffety Punk's ambition.
