59E59 Theaters Sets 2016 EAST TO EDINBURGH Festival Lineup

59E59 Theaters announces the 2016 line up for the annual EAST TO EDINBURGH festival. EAST TO EDINBURGH begins on Tuesday, July 12 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 31. The performance schedule varies.  Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Tickets to each EAST TO EDINBURGH show ranges from $12 - $20 ($10 - $17 for 59E59 Members). Tickets can be purchased by calling Ticket Central at 212-279-4200 or online via www.59e59.org.

The Pasadena Playhouse presents South Coast Repertory's production of Sandra Tsing Loh's The Madwoman In The Volvo starring Sandra Tsing Loh, Caroline Aaron, and Shannon Holt. Berkeley Rep Adds AN OCTOROON to 2016-17 Season

Today, Berkeley Repertory Theatre revealed that Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' Obie Award- winning play, An Octoroon, will be the seventh and final production in its upcoming 2016-17 subscription season. The West Coast premiere of the reworking of the mid-19th-century play will be performed in the Peet's Theatre in June 2017.

OSF's Allen Elizabethan Theatre to Open in June

Oh, the places you'll go! The Oregon Shakespeare Festival transports audiences to a ghostly Danish castle, dynastic China, and Oz's Emerald City when its outdoor theatre opens the weekend of June 17-19. The Allen Elizabethan Theatre will feature Hamlet, directed by Lisa Peterson; the classic 1970s musical The Wiz, directed by Robert O'Hara; and The Winter's Tale, directed by Desdemona Chiang. The shows will close the weekend of October 14-16.

Sinclair Lewis's IT CAN'T HAPPEN HERE to Open Berkeley Rep's 2016-17 Season

Berkeley Rep, always a leader in generating timely theatrical work, announced today that a new adaptation of the classic novel IT CAN'T HAPPEN HERE by Sinclair Lewis will open its 2016-17 season. The new adaptation will be created by Tony Taccone and screenwriter Bennett Cohen, and the production will be helmed by award-winning director Lisa Peterson.

Berkeley Rep Sets Summer Residency Lab Projects

Today, The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work announces that it has selected 18 projects for its fifth Summer Residency Lab featuring works from more than 30 talented artists. This June, as part of an extraordinary laboratory for collaboration, some of the nation's most prominent and promising writers, directors, designers, performers, and composers will unite at the Theatre's Harrison Street campus over an intense four-week period to share ideas, break bread, and create new plays. Dozens more local and out-of-town actors and directors will join the Summer Residency Lab, bringing the number of participating artists close to 100.

Second Stage Theatre will present the world premiere of Sofia Alvarez's FRIEND ART, directed by Portia Krieger, and the New York premiere of Lucy Teitler's ENGAGEMENTS as part of the company's fourteenth annual SECOND STAGE THEATRE UPTOWN SERIES this summer.

Vickie Tanner's RUNNING INTO ME to Play The NuBox Theatre, 3/29-30

The Farm Theater will present a special two-day presentation of Vickie Tanner's solo show, Running Into Me, directed by Padraic Lillis, on Tuesday, March 29 at 3pm and 7pm and Wednesday, March 30 at 7pm at The NuBox Theatre at the John DeSotelle Studio (300 West 43rd Street, 3rd Floor). Alice Tuan's CALIFORNIA LOVE Set for Playwrights' Center

The Playwrights' Center presents two readings of Core Writer Alice Tuan's new play 'California Love' as part of the 2015-16 Ruth Easton New Play Series. The readings are Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8 at 7 p.m. at the Playwrights' Center, 2301 E. Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis. The readings are free, but reservations are encouraged.
