Marjorie Cohn Named President, Original Programming And Development, Nickelodeon/Mtvn Kids And Family Group

Marjorie Cohn, a 23-year veteran of Nickelodeon has been promoted to the position of President, Original Programming and Development, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group. The announcement was made today by Cyma Zarghami, President, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, to whom she will continue to report.

Nickelodeon Celebrates Earth Day With 'SpongeBob's Last Stand,' Themed Programming 4/22

Nickelodeon celebrates Earth Day with the premiere of an environmentally conscious SpongeBob SquarePants' special, 'SpongeBob's Last Stand,' on Thursday, April 22, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. The half-hour special is part of a green-themed day of programming, beginning at 9:00 a.m. ET/PT, which includes new episodes of preschool series Team Umizoomi, The Fresh Beat Band, Go, Diego, Go!, Ni Hao Kai-lan and The Backyardigans, encores of iCarly, True Jackson, VP and SpongeBob SquarePants, as well as family favorites on Nick at Nite. The network's ode to Mother Earth begins with Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: Your Thirsty World, a special about kids who are taking action to fight for everyone's right to free and clean water, on Sunday, April 18 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Nickelodeon Brings Upfront Presentation to L.A.; Announces Additions to Fall Programming

Nickelodeon brought its annual Upfront presentation to Los Angeles for the first time ever, where it announced new additions to its robust 2010-11 programming slate originally unveiled during its March 11 presentation in New York. Joining six new series and new seasons of 16 returning hits such as top-ranked iCarly, SpongeBob SquarePants and Team Umizoomi, Nickelodeon also will premiere three new TV movies, including: Fred: The Movie, starring Lucas Cruikshank as online sensation Fred Figglehorn; Boy Who Cried Werewolf, starring Victoria Justice and Brooke Shields; and Best Player starring iCarly's Jerry Trainor and Jennette McCurdy. Nickelodeon also has acquired My Wife and Kids (123 episodes), starring Damon Wayans (In Living Color, Major Payne), which will debut on Nick at Nite this fall.

Nickelodeon Announces its 2010-11 Season Programming Slate

At its 2010 annual upfront presentation which featured top talent across the worlds of television, music and film, Nickelodeon today announced a slate of new programming that will be added to the network's 2010-11 schedule, including: six new series and new seasons of 16 returning hits such as top-ranked iCarly, SpongeBob SquarePants and Team Umizoomi. Additionally, five brand-new series will bow across Nick's digital nets, which include TeenNick, Nick Jr. and Nicktoons, during the 2010-11 season. Nickelodeon, the top-ranked basic cable network in total day for almost 16 years, is poised to close 1Q10 as its most-watched quarter ever in its 30-year history and just celebrated January as its most-watched month ever.
