The evening was a concert of love and healing for the Newtown community from the composers, musicians and more than 100 stars of Broadway together with over 100 students from several Newtown dance groups and the Newtown High School Chamber Choir. All proceeds and donations go directly to United Way of Western Connecticut's Sandy Hook School Support Fund.

Lane/Bonnie Comley have just announced the first preview, opening night and ticket on-sale dates for the new Broadway production of JEKYLL & HYDE, starring Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis in the dual title role of 'Dr. Henry Jekyll' & 'Edward Hyde' and Grammy-nominated R&B superstar Deborah Cox as 'Lucy'.

Linda Eder's diverse repertoire spans Broadway, standards, pop, country and jazz. And now she returns to PlayhouseSquare with 'Songbirds-Songs Made Famous by Women.' She performs February 2nd at 8 pm in PlayhouseSquare's intimate Ohio Theatre.

The New York Times reports that film producer Mike Medavoy ('Black Swan') and Rick Nicita of RP Media have teamed up to buy the film rights to the Broadway musical JEKYLL AND HYDE. The musical, with a book and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and music by Frank Wildhorn, is set to return to Broadway's Marquis Theater in Spring 2013 following a 25-week National Tour.

As the town slowly attempts to recover, Broadway stars, producers, writers, and directors will lend their voices in support. This has been a very exciting year for the Long Island theatre community. There was a lot of diversity from classic shows like The Importance Of Being Earnest at the Smithtown Performing Arts Center (SPAC) to more modern shows like Legally Blond at the BayWay Theatre. Some productions may have been stronger than others, but all of them had a lot of heart invested in each of them.

The Nederlander Organization has announced that the four-time Tony nominated musical sensation JEKYLL & HYDE will play the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for a limited 3 week engagement February 12 - March 3, 2013.

Today we are talking to a versatile performer first known to the world at large through her iconic early-career movie theme recordings - singing the Oscar-winning 'The Morning After' from THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE, as well as the classic themes from THE TOWERING INFERNO, SUPERMAN and musical material and a memorable musical moment in AIRPLANE!; in addition to her many full-length studio albums later in life - who then emerged as a compelling theatrical performer with a string of roles on Broadway, Off Broadway and in regional theater - a replacement star of NINE, as well as THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, as well as original cast member of 1989's THE 3 PENNY OPERA, 1984's premire production of BROWNSTONE, and, most recently, a Broadway featured cast member in LITTLE WOMEN - the radiant and vocally resplendent Maureen McGovern. We also outline her cabaret work over the years, in anticipation of McGovern's week of shows at 54 Below, titled HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, beginning December 18 and running through December 23, where she will be sharing some of her favorite seasonal songs, new and old, as well as reviving some of her show-stopping standards and iconic movie themes and perhaps a surprise or two, too. Additionally, we touch upon her bio-musical, CARRY IT ON, her new women writer retrospective concert show and much, much more!

Broadway at Birdland has announced the continuation of the partnership with multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn with two holiday-themed "Frank & Friends" concerts. These evenings will celebrate the holiday songs and favorite performers from the composer's wide range of work in popular, theatrical and classical music. All profits will go to The Actors Fund, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in the performing arts and entertainment.

Linda Eder made her Broadway debut in the musical Jekyll & Hyde where she received a Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle nominations and a Theatre World Award for Best Actress in a Musical. She is also featured on the concept albums of several other Broadway shows, such as The Scarlet Pimpernel and The Civil War.
