Loretta Ables Sayre will be the subject of profile feature on NBC's 'Today Show' by national news correspondent Jamie Gangel, during the 8:30 to 9AM half hour this Thursday, April 3 - the morning of her Broadway debut as 'Bloody Mary' in Lincoln Center Theater's new production of Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein's prize-winning musical classic SOUTH PACIFIC, which opens that evening at 6:30PM at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.

Harold and Mimi Steinberg Trust Creates Two New Awards

The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust has created two major new theater awards for American playwrights in different stages of their careers, it was announced today by the Trust's Board of Directors. 'The Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award' and 'The Steinberg Emerging Playwrights Award' will honor mid-career and early-career playwrights respectively.

Performed by Nilaja Sun and directed by Hal Brooks, No Child… runs from May 11 through June 1 on Berkeley Rep's Thrust Stage. Opening night is Monday, May 12.

'Rachel Corrie' Extends at New Rep

New Repertory Theatre announces the extension of My Name is Rachel Corrie. My Name is Rachel Corrie and Pieces, two solo plays, each about a young woman whose coming of age took place within the context of the Israeli/Palestinian situation run in rotating repertory until March 30, 2008. My Name is Rachel Corrie will extend until April 5, 2008. Both shows play at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown.

Mike Doyle and Christy Pusz round out the cast which includes Peter Bartlett, Jayne Houdyshell, and Linda Lavin in Lincoln Center Theater's production of Paul Rudnick's The New Century, a group of four one-act plays, to begin performances on March 20 at the Mitzi Newhouse Theater. The production, which will open officially on April 14, and is directed by Nicholas Martin.

Jocelyn Sawyer to Helm Hancock's 'Still Lives'

Sp Theatre Productions is pleased to announce that Jocelyn Sawyer, former Playwrights Horizons' directing resident and Lincoln Center Director's Lab member will be taking over the helm of Still Lives, a new play written by Paul Hancock. Previously announced director Kareem Fahmy unexpectedly left the production after he received a Van Lier Directing Fellowship with Second Stage Theatre.
