Designers from 'A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE,' THE GLASS MENAGERIE & More to be Honored at 2014 Henry Hewes Awards

Five theater artists will be honored by the Henry Hewes Design Awards Committee during the presentation of its 2014 Awards in a luncheon ceremony scheduled for October 6. Bob Crowley (The Glass Menagerie), Linda Cho (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Justin Townsend (Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play) and G. Lucas Crane and Keith Skretch (This Was the End) will be honored with 2014 Henry Hewes Design Awards. Three of the five are receiving his or her first Henry Hewes Design Award. Bob Crowley was previously honored in 2007 for his work with Scott Pask on The Coast of Utopia. For the 2014 honors, 91 theater artists were nominated for outstanding artistry in 59 productions presented during the 2013-2014 New York theater season. ART/WNY's 2014-15 Season to Include HELLO AGAIN, THE CRUCIBLE, and More

The American Repertory Theater of WNY in the company's 8th season announces the highly entertaining 2014-15 season. Coming off a historic 2013-14 in which the company lead the Buffalo theater community with four Artie Awards for Theatrical Excellence and won its very first award for Best Musical Production, American Repertory Theater of WNY is anticipating a compelling theater season and is excited to excel with this season's lineup.

Up on the Marquee: DISGRACED

The Pulitzer Prize winning play Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar will have a Broadway production this fall, beginning previews on September 27 and opening on October 23 at the Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45th Street. In addition to the Pulitzer Prize, Disgraced received Obie and Joseph Jefferson Awards. Check out the marquee at the Lyceum Theatre below!

New Ohio Theatre and Theatre 167 to Present 'I LIKE TO BE HERE: JACKSON HEIGHTS REVISITED', 9/6-27

New Ohio Theatre and Theatre 167 proudly present the World Premiere of I Like To Be Here: Jackson Heights Revisited, or, This Is A Mango, conceived and directed by Ari Laura Kreith, and written by Jenny Lyn Bader, J.Stephen Brantley, Ed Cardona, Jr., Les Hunter, Tom Miller, Melisa Tien, and Joy Tomasko. The play is part of the 2nd annual Theater:Village Festival, and runs from September 6 - 27, 2014 in a limited engagement at the New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City. Previews begin September 6 for a September 8 opening.

Robert Stanton and Phillipa Soo to Star in Two River Theater's THE SCHOOL FOR WIVES; Cast & Creatives Complete!

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces the full cast and creative team for its production of Moliere's classic comedy The School for Wives, translated into English verse by Richard Wilbur and directed by Mark Wing-Davey. Performances will begin in Two River's Rechnitz Theater, 21 Bridge Avenue, on Saturday, September 13 and continue through Sunday, October 5. The opening night performance is Friday, September 19 at 8pm.

LANCELOT Plays The Gym at Judson, Now thru 8/29

360repco presents Lancelot, a world premiere drama by award-winning playwright Steven Fechter (The Woodsman), and music by New York-based rock band The Head Set. Thom Fogarty directs a cast of four, including Stephen James Anthony* (Bway: War Horse), Lulu Fogarty*, Romy Nordlinger* and Grant Riordon. Performances will be staged at The Gym at Judson, 243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012 from today, August 13-29, 2014.

KC Rep's 50th Anniversary Season to Open with David Cromer's OUR TOWN, 9/5

Kansas City Repertory Theatre will open its 50th anniversary celebration with the Kansas City premiere of David Cromer's Our Town, an enduring American story which examines the everyday lives of an average town's citizens in the early twentieth century. Our Town, one of the greatest American plays written by Thornton Wilder, the three-time Pulitzer prize-winning playwright and novelist will be directed by David Cromer, MacArthur Foundation 'genius' grant recipient and director of KC Rep's 2009 production of The Glass Menagerie which received national and local critical acclaim. This co-production with UMKC Theatre will feature redesigned seating at Spencer Theatre in the James C. Olson performing Arts Center on the UMKC campus. The show will run September 5 through 28th. TimeLine Theatre Welcomes New General Manager, Associate Artists and Board Members

TimeLine Theatre Company is pleased to announce the expansion of its full-time staff with the addition of Dan McArdle as General Manager; the appointment of new Associate Artists, including Chicago-based and soon-to-be Broadway director Kimberly Senior; and the election of new leadership for its Board of Directors, including President John M. Sirek.

SUBMISSIONS ONLY's Kate Wetherhead to Star in THE HEIDI CHRONICLES at the Guthrie This Fall

The Guthrie Theater today announced casting for the first production on the Wurtele Thrust Stage in the 2014-2015 season, Wendy Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Heidi Chronicles. Under the direction of 2014 Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman (Broadway's Violet, Chinglish, Well), The Heidi Chronicles will feature the talents of Kate Wetherhead, Ben Graney, Tracey Maloney and Zach Shaffer, as well as Sam Bardwell, Eleonore Dendy, Mo Perry and Stacia Rice.

Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center world-renowned musicians: pianist Gloria Chien; violinists Bella Hristova and Ani Kavafian; violist Pierre LaPointe; cellist Sophie Shao; and clarinetist Jose Franch-Ballester present an open morning rehearsal of this world-class chamber music ensemble, as they prepare for that evening's performance of selected works by Haydn, Schoenfield, and Weber.

Sheldon Best, Sun Mee Chomet, Lizan Mitchell & More to Lead LCT3's 'BROWNSVILLE SONG'

Sheldon Best, Sun Mee Chomet, Lizan Mitchell, Chris Myers and Taliyah Whitaker will comprise the cast of the upcoming LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater New York premiere production of brownsville song (b-side for tray), a new play by Kimber Lee. The production, to be directed by Patricia McGregor, will begin performances Saturday, October 4, running for six weeks only through Sunday, November 16 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). Opening night is Monday, October 20.
