The 5th Avenue Theatre Announces Selection Committee for Inaugural Cycle ofFIRST DRAFT: RAISE YOUR VOICE

The selection committee for the inaugural session of The 5th Avenue Theatre's new musical initiative, First Draft: Raise Your Voice, has been announced. This cycle is currently soliciting submissions nation-wide from womxn, gender non-conforming and non-binary folx with a submission deadline of June 15. Comprised of a team of outstanding womxn, the selection committee includes performers, producers, directors, playwrights and thought leaders in the Seattle theater landscape: Desdamona Chiang, Lauren DuPree, Keiko Green, Allison Narver, and Sarah Porkalob, lead by The 5th's Kelsey Thorgalsen and Bill Berry.

Photo Flash: Broadway Bound Kids' Third Annual Broadway Bee Spells S-U-C-C-E-S-S

Broadway Bound Kids' third annual Broadway Bee, which took place on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Le Poisson Rouge, was a major success, raising over $40,000 in funding for performing arts education opportunities for NYC youth. A comedic adult spelling bee, the Broadway Bee, featured actors from hit Broadway shows competing in a hilarious live event. Lee Aaron Rosen from the Tony Award nominated Broadway revival of Angels in America took home the coveted Broadway Bee trophy.

Award-Winning Actors Co-Op Theatre Company Presents VIOLET 

Actors Co-op Theatre Company (Ovation Award-Winner 2017 Best Play, Intimate Theatre for 33 Variations) is proud to present the Tony nominated musical VIOLET, with music by Jeanine Tesori, book and lyrics by Brian Crawley, based on the short story 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts, directed by Richard Israel, produced by Thomas Chavira. Violet opens Today, May 11 at 8:00 pm, and will run through Sunday, June 17 at the Actors Co-op Crossley Theatre, 1760 N. Gower Street, 90028 (on the campus of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood) in Hollywood.

THE METROMANIACS Enters Final Weeks

Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Founder and Artistic Director | Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) presents the New York Premiere of David Ives's The Metromaniacs, adapted from Alexis Piron's La Metromanie and directed by Michael Kahn. Performances continue through Sunday May 20th only.

Bay Street Theater Announces FROST/NIXON As Second 2018 Mainstage Production

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for the second production in their 2018 Mainstage Season: FROST/NIXON, a new play by Peter Morgan, directed by Sarna Lapine. Best Of Broadway Announces 2018-2019 Season, Including LES MISERABLES, FINDING NEVERLAND, and More

The Best of Broadway presented by Planet Fitness series announced the shows for the 2018-2019 season today. The series' 20th anniversary season will welcome six shows including the return of Les Miserables (October 16-21, 2018), back by popular demand after a successful engagement in 2013. The season also includes Something Rotten! (November 12 & 13, 2018); Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I (December 4 & 5, 2018); The Sound of Music (March 12 & 13, 2019); Finding Neverland (April 2 & 3, 2019); and the highly-anticipated return of Jersey Boys (May 7 & 8, 2019). All performances are at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.

Award Winning Production of THE INVISIBLE HAND Opens At TheaterWorks, 5/24

Rob Ruggiero, Producing Artistic Director announced today that TheaterWorks  will present the Westport Country Playhouse's acclaimed production of THE INVISIBLE HAND by Ayad Akhtar, May 24 through June 23, 2018.  THE INVISIBLE HAND is the fourth show of TheaterWorks 32nd Season.

Cast Announced For SKELETON CREW At The Geffen Playhouse

The Geffen Playhouse today announced the full cast for its Los Angeles Premiere production of Skeleton Crew, the third and final installment in Dominique Morisseau's award-winning three-play cycle, The Detroit Project. The play features Amari Cheatom (Roman J. Israel, Esq.) as Dez, Caroline Stefanie Clay (Broadway's The Little Foxes) as Faye, Kelly McCreary (Grey's Anatomy) as Shanita and D.B. Woodside (Lucifer) as Reggie. Patricia McGregor will direct.

Victory Gardens Theater Presents MIES JULIE

Victory Gardens Theater concludes its 43rd season with Mies Julie, written by Yael Farber, directed by Dexter Bullard, and adapted from August Strindberg's Miss Julie. Mies Julie runs May 25 - June 24, 2018, with the press performance on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 7:30pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Lincoln Center today announced its annual Out of Doors season of free music and dance, invigorating Damrosch Park and the Lincoln Center campus from July 24 to August 12. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD to Go to Trial in New York in June

The Broadway-bound production of To Kill a Mockingbird has been in legal trouble for some time, but answers may be coming soon. Yesterday an Alabama court judge granted Scott Rudin's request for an expedited trial and agreed to move the adjudication to the Southern New York circuit. The two-week trial is scheduled to begin June 4.
