Dress Circle Publishing has announce a partnership with Theatre Development Fund (TDF). Part of the proceeds of The Untold Stories of Broadway, Volume 2 by Jennifer Ashley Tepper will benefit education programs at TDF, one of the nation's largest not- for profit performing arts service organizations dedicated to the audience.

Recently Ghostlight Records released the astounding original cast recording of VENICE. The Off-Broadway musical features a book by Eric Rosen, music by Matt Sax, lyrics by Sax and Rosen, and additional music by Curtis Moore. The cast album is quite possibly one of the most exciting recordings I have ever had the pleasure to listen to.

Bring It On: Cut It Out, a benefit concert featuring songs cut from the hit musical Bring It On will be hosted by Music Theatre Kansas City (MTKC) on Monday, December 15. Proceeds from the event will benefit MTKC's scholarship fund.

On Monday, December 8, the Theater People Podcast welcomes Mary Testa. The Public Theater presents the world premiere musical HAMILTON, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow and directed by Thomas Kail, Hamilton begins performances on Tuesday, January 20 and will run through Sunday, March 22, with an official press opening on Tuesday, February 17. Creator Miranda took to Twitter today to post pictures from backstage, and you can check out two shots below!

The second book in a multivolume collection examines eight Broadway theaters and over 70 years of theatrical history through the voices of such Broadway greats as Jason Robert Brown, Joanna Gleason, Jonathan Groff,Jeremy Jordan,Laura Linney, Joe Mantello, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Robert Morse, Harold Prince, Charles Strouse, Alex Timbers, Julie Taymor, Robert Wankel, George C. The eight Broadway theaters featured in the second book are the Palace Theatre, the Barrymore Theatre, the Gershwin Theatre, the Circle in the Square, the Shubert Theatre, the Criterion Center Stage Right, the Vivian Beaumont Theatre and the Nederlander Theatre. Broadway sound designers and others just submitted a petition with 32,495 signatures asking the Tonys committee to reverse its decision to eliminate the sound design category. Now, The New York Times reports that the administration committee, though it is sticking to its 'carefully studied decision' for the current 2014-15 season, has asked the rules committee to review the petition.

As previously reported, the Tony Awards Administration Committee determined that Best Sound Design of a Play and Best Sound Design of a Musical Categories would be eliminated from the established list of competitive categories, beginning with the 2014-2015 season. According to The New York Times, Broadway sound designers have just submitted a petition with 32,495 signatures asking the Tonys committee to reverse its decision at its meeting this Thursday, November 13.
