Bring It On: Cut It Out, a benefit concert featuring songs cut from the hit musical Bring It On will be hosted by Music Theatre Kansas City (MTKC) on Monday, December 15. Proceeds from the event will benefit MTKC's scholarship fund.

Songs will be performed by professional alumni of MTKC's training program, featuring Emmeline Wood from the national tour of Bring It On. The evening is directed by Julie Danielson (Spring Awakening, Smash) who served as the original music assistant for the first year of readings/workshops for Bring In On in New York.

"I felt a connection to this music the very first time I heard it," said Danielson. "Some of the songs written in the beginning never made it past the first or second workshop. As it goes with any new work, the vision changes, the characters develop in a new direction and great tunes get the boot. I am so excited to bring these songs back to life, even if only for one night."

With the personal blessings of all three composers, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tom Kitt and Amanda Green, MTKC will offer a glimpse into the process of writing a new musical and specifically, Bring It On's journey from the page to the stage.

Bring It On: Cut It Out will start at 6:30pm on Monday, December 15 at the new Museum at Prairiefire in Overland Park, Kansas. Tickets are $20 which includes gourmet hot chocolate and desserts. All proceeds benefit the MTKC scholarship fund. Reservations and details are available at mtkc.org

MTKC will present the full production of Bring it On: The Musical January 2-4, 2015, at the White Recital Hall on the campus of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Visit their website, mtkc.org, for tickets and more information.
