MTC to Open 2014 Season with PRIVATE LIVES

Associate Artistic Director Sam Strong opens MTC's 2014 mainstage season with Noel Coward's delightful comedy of manners, Private Lives. This sparkling tale about love, lust and marriage stars recent Helpmann Award winner Lucy Durack (Wicked, Legally Blonde) alongside Leon Ford, John Leary and Julie Forsyth.

Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires to Premiere EL LORO Y EL CISNE, Oct 31

A partir del jueves 31 de octubre el Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires y la Fundacion Cinemateca Argentina albergaran, en la Sala Leopoldo Lugones del Teatro San Martin (Avenida Corrientes 1530), el estreno de El loro y el cisne, del realizador argentino Alejo Moguillansky. El loro y el cisne tuvo su estreno mundial en la ultima edicion del Bafici -donde obtuvo una Mencion Especial del Jurado de la Competencia Argentina- y continuo su recorrido por festivales de cine internacionales como el Festival de Rio de Janeiro, el BFI London Film Festival y la Viennale. La exhibicion de El loro y el cisne sera acompañada por dos proyecciones de Castro (2009), primer largometraje de Alejo Moguillansky en solitario.

Little Shop of Horrors, with Book and Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Music by Alan Menken, Based on the film by Roger Corman, Screen play by Charles Griffith and originally produced by the WPA Theatre (Klye Renick, Producing Director), as well as the Orpheum Theatre, New York City by the WPA Theatre, David Geffen, Cameron Mackintosh and the Shubert Organization, will be directed by Adam Ewing with musical direction by Anne Britt at the Gallery Theater.

2013 Detroit Design Festival Announces 70 Events, 9/17-22

Detroit's annual citywide celebration of design, the Detroit Design Festival, launches Sept. 17 with a kick-off party that will set the stage for more than 70 events set to take place Sept. 18-22, 2013.

Lopez) and a gripping narrative to give readers the sensation of Fright Under the Moonlight.

Julesworks Follies to Present 'Sweet Sixteen' Edition of Monthly Variety Show, 7/27

The Julesworks Follies, Santa Fe's Community Monthly Variety Show, has its 16th Edition on Saturday, July 27th, starting at 7 p.m., again at the Aztec Cafe, 317 Aztec Street. The show continues its mission of offering a live safe environment for an array of Santa Fe's performers and artists. A loyal troupe-like crew has formed of people who perform monthly as often as possible and it is their hope hope each show for at least one new performer. Each show has a host who guides the evening.

Santiago Loza, Matias Piñeiro and More Set for Film Society of Lincoln Center's Latinbeat 2013 Lineup, Now thru 7/21

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the lineup for this year's edition of Latinbeat, today, July 12-21. Opening Night launches with LA PAZ by prolific Argentinian filmmaker, Santiago Loza, who has showcased his work at the festival since 2000, and is also an influential playwright in the indie theater scene of Buenos Aires. This year's lineup also includes the previously announced retrospective of filmmaker, Matias Piñeiro, who will screen his films THE STOLEN MAN and THEY ALL LIE during the festival while simultaneously theatrically opening VIOLA and ROSALINDA at the Film Society of Lincoln Center tonight, July 12th.

Tanguera - Das Tango Musical ist in diesem Sommer nach 2009 das zweite Mal in Deutschland auf Tournee und feierte am 26.06. seinen Auftakt in der ausverkauften Alten Oper Frankfurt. Seine Geburtsstunde erlebte diese einzigartige Show 2002 in Buenos Aires und wurde erst von den Argentiniern, und dann vom Rest der Welt bejubelt. Tango Reveuen gab es schon viele, aber was Tanguera von allen anderen unterscheidet, ist dass die Show eine Geschichte erzahlt - die authentische Geschichte des Argentiniens der Jahrhundertwende und die Geschichte des Tangos selbst.

Our very special guest for this show is musician Steve Terrell who promises to 'break out his guitar' for some old fashioned fun.
