Birdland will kick-off their exciting month of programming with the following acts

Steele Spring Stage Rights, the licensing company that represents The Marvelous Wonderettes, has just acquired the licensing and theatrical performance rights to the off-Broadway musical about a family and its complicated history with a book by Charlie Schulman and music and lyrics by Michael Roberts.  

For decades, beginning in the 1940's Wilmington's Playhouse, was a stop - a tryout town if you will - with productions whose terminal destination was Broadway. Shows written by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Lerner and Loewe would be staged here to gauge audience approval, tweak, add or delete dialogue or songs, etc

The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance, a program within the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Wayne State University, is thrilled to kick off our year-long 90 Years of Dance at Wayne celebration with the annual December Dance Concert, December 7 and 8 at Detroit's Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts.  This year's show promises diverse and moving works showcasing highlights of dance through the decades. Dance students have the pleasure of working with a variety of talented artists, including invited guests, esteemed faculty, and talented student choreographers.

CA's Best Coast -- comprised of singer/guitarist Bethany Cosentino and guitarist Bobb Bruno -- released their first ever children's record, entitled Best Kids, as an Amazon Original this summer. Today, the album is being released on limited edition colored vinyl via the band's webstore and via Amazon Music.  All orders from the band will include a Best Kids coloring book with original illustrations by Jess Rotter.

BJ RYAN'S MAGNOLIA ROOM presents Carole J Bufford in You Don't Own Me: The Fearless Females of 1960s and 1970s on October 26th at 8PM.   After selling out shows across the US and in London, Carole J. Bufford brings her show: You Don't Own Me: The Fearless Females of the 1960s and 1970s, to Norwalk, Connecticut's newest cabaret room. 

ANN WILSON of HEART will perform her version of Lesley Gore's fearless 1963 hit 'You Don't Own Me'--tomorrow (Wednesday, September 19) on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' The song is from her new album IMMORTAL that was just released last week (September 14) on BMG and has been a highlight of her live shows. The album features 10 musically diverse tracks that pay tribute to some of ANN's influences and friends who've recently passed and whose music poignantly lives on.

QUINCY Launching on Netflix and Select Theaters Next Friday

Netflix debuts trailer and key art for the original documentary Quincy ahead of its world premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival on September 9. 

Ann Wilson of Heart, one of rock's most distinctive and powerful vocalists, has released 'You Don't Own Me' as the second track from her new album that's due out September 14 on BMG. Fittingly titled IMMORTAL, the album features 10 musically diverse tracks that pay tribute to some of ANN's influences and friends who've recently passed and whose music poignantly lives on. ANN's hard-hitting and timely interpretation of Lesley Gore's fearless 1963 hit 'You Don't Own Me'--featuring the esteemed Warren Haynes on guitar--was released today (August 3) across all digital platforms after its premiere yesterday at Billboard.com. Netflix today announced QUINCY, a powerful new documentary about the legendary Quincy Jones, directed by Jones's daughter Rashida Jones (Angie Tribeca, Hot Girls Wanted) and Alan Hicks (Keep On Keepin' On). QUINCY is produced by Paula DuPré Pesmen and executive produced by Jane Rosenthal and Berry Welsh from Tribeca Productions and Adam Fell from Quincy Jones Productions. The film will launch globally on Netflix on September 21 and have a limited theatrical release.

Metropolis presents the colorful decade revue Beehive: The 60's Musical through August 25, 2018. A rockin' celebration following six women as they honor the legendary music and performers of the 60's.

ANN WILSON of HEART is preparing for her first-ever solo television special. The iconic vocalist will film her newly added April 11 show at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, IL for an upcoming special to coincide with the release of her new solo album IMMORTAL that's due out this summer via BMG (exact release date TBA). For this special (airdate and additional details TBA), ANN and her band will perform songs from the Heart catalogue, tracks from her solo career and highlights from the new album.

The Sixties are back in Lancaster, leading up to a youth production of JUKEBOX SATURDAY NIGHT in May.

GOLDSTEIN, the new musical about family, with music and lyrics by Michael Roberts and a book by Charlie Schulman, will begin previews Off-Broadway on Monday, April 26th at the Actors Temple Theatre (339 West 47 St -between 8th and 9th Avenues), where it is settled in for an open-ended run
