Ghostlight Records will release the original cast recording of The Public Theater's production of LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOSTthis summer. The album will be available in digital format on June 3 with physical CDs available online and in stores on July 8. The production was recently nominated for three 2014 Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Lyrics and Outstanding Choreography. Directed by Alex Timbers, LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST features songs by Michael Friedman with book adaptation by Timbers. The new musical Rocky is currently in previews at Broadway's historic Winter Garden Theatre ahead of an official bow on March 13. ROCKY brings to life the iconic and inspiring story of struggling small time Philly boxer, Rocky Balboa, who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to go the distance against heavyweight champ Apollo Creed. The production is directed by Alex Timbers, and features choreography by Steven Hoggett and Kelly Devine. Sh-K-Boom has just announced that a cast album for Love's Labour's Los, which played at the Delacorte Theatre as a part of the 2013 Shakespeare in the Park season, is currently in the works. The cast is in the studio today, January 27, to record the album. A release date has not yet been announced.
Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Machinal, starring Rebecca Hall, written by Sophie Treadwell and directed by Lyndsey Turner, began previews on December 20, 2013 ahead of an official opening on January 16, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway.
