George R. Goldner, the Drue Heinz Chairman of the Met Museum's Department of Drawings and Prints, to Step Down in January

Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, announced today that George R. Goldner, who has been the Drue Heinz Chairman of the Museum's Department of Drawings and Prints since 1993, will step down at the end of January 2015. He announced further that Nadine Orenstein, currently a Curator in the department who specializes in European prints and books through the 19th century, will become the Drue Heinz Curator in Charge of the Department of Drawings and Prints on February 1.

Natalie Portman Turns Down Female Lead in Universal's Steve Jobs Biopic

As previously reported, Natalie Portman was recently in talks to play the female lead in Universal Pictures' Steve Jobs biopic, directed by Danny Boyle. Today, Variety has confirmed that Portman has passed on the role, though no reasons were given.

Sundance Institute announced today the films selected to screen in the 2015 Sundance Film Festival out-of-competition sections Spotlight and Park City at Midnight, as well as the films and installations to be featured in the New Frontier program. The Festival, which takes place January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah, is the centerpiece of the year-round public programs for the Institute, which also hosts 24 residency labs and grants more than $2.5 million to independent artists each year.

PHOENIX, Dec. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Leicester and the Power of Observation will make its first stop at Phoenix Art Museum opening on January 24, 2015. It will then travel to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and on to the North Carolina Museum of Art. The exhibition is focused around the Codex Leicester18 double-page and double-sided sheets (72 pages total) that comprise the only manuscript by Leonardo in an American collection. The codex pages will display Leonardo's creative process, the way he reasoned through a concept, and the ways in which he influenced artists throughout centuries.
