Pianist Daniel Gortler And Violinist Daniel Guedes In Concert

The Jewish Museum will present Israeli-American pianist Daniel Gortler and Brazilian violinist Daniel Guedes performing the music of Ludwig van Beethoven, Edward Grieg, and contemporary Brazilian composer Mozart Camargo Guarnieri on Thursday, May 16 at 8 pm. This is Mr. Gortler's fifth appearance at the Jewish Museum, and Mr. Guedes's first.

The Annual Museum Mile Festival Celebrates its 41st Year

Now celebrating its 41st year, the annual Museum Mile Festival takes place rain or shine on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Over 1.5 million people have taken part in this annual celebration since its inception. Festival attendees can walk the Mile on Fifth Avenue between 82nd Street and 105th Street while visiting seven of New York City's finest cultural institutions, which are open free to the public throughout the evening. The Museum Mile Festival's opening ceremony takes place at 5:45pm at El Museo del Barrio, 1230 Fifth Avenue at 105th Street. Traditionally, the Commissioner of Cultural Affairs and other city and state dignitaries open the Festival.

San Diego REP Announces Lineup For 26th Annual JFEST

San Diego Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce the lineup for the 26th Annual Lipinsky Family San Diego Jewish Arts Festival (JFEST), which brings another fantastic year of Jewish music, theatre and art to the community. This year's festival will take place May 26 - July 11, 2019, and features a slate of 13 performances across multiple San Diego and North County venues celebrating San Diego's diverse performing arts community. The venues include San Diego REP/Lyceum Theatres, Encinitas Library, Leichtag Commons, New Village Arts Theatre, and The Museum of Making Music, Carlsbad.

Comedian, poet and author Rick Shapiro is to appear in his own show 'Restless' tonight at the Slipper Room in the Lower East Side. Shapiro, one of the most innovative and surreal comedic talents and a staple of the NYC and LA Underground comedy scene, began his career in the early 1980's performing stand-up at Catch A Rising Star on Broadway.

The Lumineers Announce New Album, 'III'

The Lumineers will release their new album III on September 13th through Dualtone (an Entertainment One Company) in the U.S. and Canada and Decca Records for the rest of the world. The two-time GRAMMY nominated band has also released 'Gloria,' the first single from the album, which is out today. Lead vocalist Wesley Schultz says the song 'is about love between an addict and her family.'

Jake Clemons To Release DEMOCRACY, His Interpretation Of The Leonard Cohen Classic

Bang on a Can and the Jewish Museum's 2018-2019 concert season, pairing innovative music with the Museum's exhibitions and showcasing leading female performers and composers, continues today, February 28, 2019 at 7:30pm. The acclaimed string quartet ETHEL performs the complete string quartets of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Julia Wolfe: Dig Deep, Early that Summer, Four Marys, and Blue Dress. This is the first performance of all of Wolfe's string quartets at one time, on one stage.
